Development of significant other

edit

In the significant other article, Sullivan is credited with coining the term in 1953. However, he died in 1949. Gilliamjf 08:08, 5 March 2006 (UTC) -Can't say for certain if this is the case, but a lot of his works were published after his life. 199.8.13.1 (talk) 21:08, 20 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Homosexuality

edit

This material needs to be referenced, otherwise it sounds like gossip. I hope someone could take the time to reference the material and perhaps make some better sections in the main article body. --DanielCD 02:00, 22 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

POV

edit

This article is pov: presents a one sided view of his supposed pederastic relationship. The source cited is nowhere near this unambigous. Pcap ping 18:57, 10 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

More Speculation/Gossip

edit

"This resulted in social isolation which might have been the incentive for his later interest in psychiatry."

Someone should cite this or remove it. Also the article should be marked for neutrality.

Added a link to "Saul B. Newton", an associate of Sullivan's. That page is currently described as an orphan.

Something's wrong with the dates. It gives HSS's death as 1949, but it says that "Beginning in 1929, Sullivan had a 22-year relationship with James Inscoe Sullivan ..." 22 + 1929 is 1951, two years past 1949. What are the facts? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.119.22.21 (talk) 00:36, 9 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

repeated false claim has no ref

edit

"receiving his medical degree in Chicago College of Medicine and Surgery in 1917."

For years it has been known that this claimed medical education is bogus.

A very successful charlatan. Will we now claim that Erik Erikson was a son of an "Erik" and had a degree?
