Later Life

What does this sentence mean: "He swore to never attract more uniform". I can't tell from the context, else I would have made a stab at editing it. ;-) Glane23 (talk) 20:11, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

It means he swore to never join the military again. It has been reworded properly by Steve Dufour in this edit. Otolemur crassicaudatus (talk) 03:38, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Eastern Front

Did he really shoot down an I-61 for his 30th, or should it be an I-16? I-61 was an early designation for a Mig-1 - possibly the Germans still called it and het similar Mig-3's I-61, but an I-16 seems more likely?--202.49.136.21 (talk) 02:23, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Unreliable sources tag

Luftwaffe.cz is not a reliable source; more of a fan page. K.e.coffman (talk) 01:19, 2 February 2017 (UTC)

It's a copyvio and close paraphrasing anyway; please see copyvio report. K.e.coffman (talk) 01:38, 2 February 2017 (UTC)

Notability

Does not meet WP:SOLDIER & sig RS coverage not found link, just passing mentions.

No de.wiki article exists. Did not hold a significant command and topped out as Major. Successful completion of missions (sorties flown, # of enemy aircraft shot down, etc) is not part of SOLDIER. A MilHist RfC on this topic has failed to gain consensus in May of 2017:

Please also see a note at MilHist Talk Archives for background behind the redirect. In summary, per the outcome of the discussion at Notability:People on notability of Knight's Cross recipients: permalink, certain recipients were deemed non notable and WP:SOLDIER has been modified accordingly: diff. The articles of these recipients are being redirected to alphabetical lists. K.e.coffman (talk) 01:29, 19 August 2017 (UTC)
