Consistency

edit

Is it "Hawaiʻi" or "Hawaii"? The article should be at least internally consistent. The Rambling Man (talk) 07:50, 20 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

There was only one such inconsistency that I changed. There are things I can't change in the templates, quotations or references which do not use the ʻokina, and Hawaii-born which probably should remain "Hawaii-born" not "Hawaiʻi-born".--KAVEBEAR (talk) 19:14, 20 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
What about "declared Hawaiʻi's neutrality"? The Rambling Man (talk) 19:40, 20 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
In the image caption? What's wrong with it?--KAVEBEAR (talk) 20:24, 20 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
Well feel free to call me stupid, but if that's correct, why isn't the article called "Hawaiʻi and the American Civil War"? The Rambling Man (talk) 21:19, 20 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
Article title and internal article contents are two different realms. Please explore the example set for by editors on Hawaikan related articles. Great examples are place names and Liliuokalani. Keeping the title "Hawaii and the American Civil War" instead of "Hawaiʻi and the American Civil War" makes it more easier to search online.--KAVEBEAR (talk) 22:06, 20 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
Odd that there's the inconsistency as far as I can see. Plus there's not even a redirect at Hawaiʻi and the American Civil War. What a curious situation, internally inconsistent and named inconsistently... oh well. The Rambling Man (talk) 06:12, 21 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
