Fair use rationale for Image:P1052.jpg
editImage:P1052.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:23, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
Recent changes
editI have made a few, and hope they mostly improve the info on the P.1052. One thing still bothers me though, and that is the date of the first flight. I have changed this to the same day in December. 48/12/19 is the date given in Green & Cross's book, which I have cited. I tend to believe this because
i) Green is a fairly reliable source;
ii) they were writing (1955) quite close to the event;
iii) and dates mattered to them, since their book is ordered chronologically by first flight.
None of these mean the December date is right, and I know 48/11/19 is much quoted on the web. Given the only difference is 11 rather than 12, somebody sometime made a typo, but with which? Does anyone know of an unquestionable source from pre-1950, probably paper, to decide us? TSRL 21:26, 14 July 2007 (UTC)TSRL
Since this note, I've had a very helpful email from Graham Mottram of the FAAM at Yeovilton. No log books, but sveral contemporary books say November, including Jane's 51/2. So that Green and Cross got it wrong seems certain.143.167.6.222 12:07, 18 July 2007 (UTC)TSRL
