Really POV
editUntitled
editThis article is full of over the top POV. Needs substantial improvement. --Fcsuper (talk) 05:21, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
"He was then invited to join headquarters staff as general counsel in 1939, succeeding Olin R. Moyle, who had been ousted that year in a dispute with Rutherford over Rutherford's heavy drinking and cursing." This is stated as if Rutherford's heavy driking and cursing is a fact. This was an accusation by Olin.
"Covington's personal habits more closely mirrored those of Judge Rutherford than did Moyle's." What does this mean? That Covington was also a drinker and a curser? Too much POV!--24.39.49.196 (talk) 18:51, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
- It's a fair point. There's only one source for the statement and it's a website of dubious reliability. I've removed the sentence. --Richard (talk) 20:08, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
Predecessor
editIt's been requested[1] that the matter of Covington's predecessor be discussed here in Talk.
Watch Tower's former lead counsel was Olin Moyle. He resigned, so he'd have needed to be replaced no matter what else happened.
But...Watch Tower's board refused to accept his resignation, dismissing him instead.
So, one might guess an encyclopedic disagreement to consider whether Covington's predecessor "resigned" or "was dismissed".
No! The apparent disagreement is whether to repeat claims that Rutherford drank heavily and cursed.
Such claims would be debateable for an article on Rutherford, but IMHO there's no justification to insert such claims here.
