Haywards Heath Referendum Group The main Haywards Heath Referendum Page is being edited by a user PW555 who is systematically deleting news items and information relating to important local public events. It is a sad shame that some users seek to hide the truth.

Clean-up

edit

I think there used to be a lot of different info on this page, did it get overwritten at some point? I'll put a cleanup tag on this anyway, needs a bit of restructuring. akaDruid 15:42, 24 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Hope this clean-up satisfies everyone! :-)Kev

Lindfield

edit

The Lindfield disambiguation article links here, mentioning that Lindfield is part of Haywards Heath. It seems strange that Lindfield doesn't get a mention in the article here, or have its own page; given that Lindfield has a lot more history to it.

Agreed it seems strange that the Lindfield disambiguation page links to Haywards Heath as Lindfield is actually a separate village Population stats. When I have more free time I'll create a Lindfield stub article but others are quite welcome to do it before me if they wish Lindfield,_West_Sussex Heezy 11:26, 7 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Famous Residents

edit

Who is Ed Harris? The link goes to an American actor whose page gives no reference to a connection to Haywards Heath? Any clues? JiMternet 18:08, 24 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

And Robbie Williams? Source please. JiMternet 10:58, 27 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

The page is suffering from vandalism.... The reference to Ed Harris was added along with vandalism. I have removed. Tibi08

Population stats

edit

I took out the long list of places which were shown to make HH "one of the largest towns in West Sussex". Looking at the PDF file here, HH is way down; it seemed a pointless comparison in any case. Listing the towns in alphabetical order doesn't help! Oh, and Arundel CP only has a population of 3,400 ... well below the 20,000+ of all the others Peter Shearan 15:52, 24 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

I have noticed that the HH Council website wasn't included! Peter Shearan 15:56, 24 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

I thought Dame Vera Lynn lived in Ditchling near Brighton, not in Haywards Heath. Anyone care to provide evidence, since I can't find any on Google? Thanks. Tibi08 21:22, 27 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Bypass

edit

Does the Haywards Heath bypass, currently partly formed down past Bolnore Village, or indeed the new development at Bolnore Village, deserve a mention?

Now added.... Tibi08

Dolphins?

edit

An "Obsession with Dolphins"? Isn't that a bit much? It doesn't seem worthy of a mention, and it's a bit unencyclopedic... don't want to step on toes though. Hagger 19:07, 31 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

This seems to be RH16.

Haywards Heath Referendum Group

edit

During a Special Town council Meeting on 21st July 2008 the Town Council publicly agreed a critical landmark motion: To adopt the local Referendum result which asked MSDC to put development plans on HOLD. The motion was carried 9-3 with one abstention. Subsequent failure to ratify has left the Town Council in disarray. (Files copies held from the deputy Mayor confirm) Council promises and the resident mandate from this meeting not yet been delivered.

Several unsuccessful attempts to ratify this important motion, taken as a “recorded” vote with each councillor vote named and recorded. Unfortunately the resulting minutes were inaccurate and three subsequent Town Council meetings have failed to resolve the issue. It is alleged that control, compliance and leadership issues undermine credibility. Widely accepted standards of best practice have not yet been adopted, however debate is underway for a new constitution.

A group of concerned residents have formed The Haywards Heath Referendum Group [1], a strictly non-party political association with members drawn from the local community.

Following the hugely successful referendum another public meeting will be held at Clair Hall at 7:00 pm on Friday 12th September 2008.

Press & councillors have been invited to join the public at this most important update.<HHRG leaflet></Signed by HHRG>

Please can you advise how to restrict attempts from small minded people who delete facts on the basis that they do not like them even though articels are factually correct, verifiable etc? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jivebaby (talkcontribs) 09:43, 15 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Just because statements are verifiable does not make them NPOV. It is VERIFIABLE that you have an opinion and that that opinion has been stated in public; but it is still your opinion. The ENCYLCOPEDIC facts are that there is a plan to make changes, and that the plan is meeting resistance. Any information further than that is NOT encyclpedic, and does not belong in the article.WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 20:37, 16 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Will this do please? I have carefully removed Jivebabys opinions:

Haywards Heath Referendum Group:

A group of residents have formed The Haywards Heath Referendum Group, a strictly non-party political association with members drawn from the local community.

Following a local Referendum which is very rare in the UK, 95% of voters supported the motion which was subsequently adopted during a Special Meeting of the Town Council on 21st July 2008 when members agreed the critical landmark motion: To "adopt the local Referendum result which asked MSDC to put development plans on hold. "

The deputy Mayor confirms "that the motion was taken as a “recorded” vote which was carried 9-3 with one abstention, however members have yet to agree the minutes." This has led to extensive debate and the resident mandate from this meeting been delayed.

It is alleged that control and leadership issues continue to undermine credibility with widespread debate following a BBC TV News item on Saturday 13th September 2008. The Mayor has advised that members will again try to agree minutes from the 21st July at its next meeting on 27th October.

Information verifiable from Council Minutes and HHTC correspondence. Email info@HaywardsHeaths-Referendum.com

>>> The last 3 paragraphs are hardly encyclopedic and are unsubstantiated. Readers of wikipedia should not have to email a political pressure group to verify information!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Entrain (talkcontribs) 19:36, 21 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Entrain/Mike There was no suggestion that readers should contact the HHRG to verify facts as these have already been pubslished intot he public domain. You have deleted an item whose wording had been agreed with wikipedia editors as neutral with challenge perhaps on verification not on emailing HHRG. A link will shortly be provided to the news item mentioned.

PLEASE NOTE that the "Information verifiable...." was not part of the item that you deleted.

I have reinstated the item and reported your action to wikipedia editoprs via a friend. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jivebaby (talkcontribs) 10:27, 22 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

The Broadway Group

edit

Drake/CharlesW RE The Broadway Group. I note your deletion of the The Broadway Group posting from the Haywards Heath page and that this was one of many deletions or IMHO unilateral acts of vandalism by you. Perhaps it would be more productive to propose amendments to help balance the topic with a neutral, factual result rather than adopting your solo I-know-best approach and everyone else is wrong solution.

The (TBG) topic posted is a first attempt and whilst I note that you live a considerable distance from this area, your opinion is clearly strong enough to motivate your deletion it without engaging in a more constructive process which perhaps would be mutually beneficial. Bearing in mind, all of the information is local, specific to Haywards Heath and critically is verifiable, other than adjustemnt of the prose or fundamental contradiction of the facts, I object to your methods, which I note from a quick glance of your history are far from discrete.

So please do not delete or substantially amend this entry without using the democraticaly appropriate and transparent Talk/discussion process.

Kind regards —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jivebaby (talkcontribs) 11:00, 3 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

My request was simply that you engage with the process -If you do not beleive the posting is neutral, please provide some help rtaher than just destroying anothers entry.--Jivebaby (talk) 21:29, 3 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
