Rewritten article
editI raised this article at WP:TEAHOUSE because the article was poorly sourced, read like original research and I wondered if there was a copyright violation regarding very similar text at Lancashire Gardens Trust. After feedback I have rewritten the article without reference to the LGT article, as I am not sure of its reliability.
It is very difficult to find authoritive sources for the building and garden. Some websites mention a date of 1840 for the building, but I could not verify that. I have given Mawson and his son as the garden designers, but that evidence seems a bit flaky too. The house has evidently been known by different names (the LGT article mentions Hill Top) and had a number of owners, so is difficult to trace.
I'm unsure about notability but will hold off tagging the article with notability concerns at the moment and see if it develops. Tacyarg (talk) 14:51, 30 October 2022 (UTC)
