editThis article contains far too many uses of the word 'you'. Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, and as such should not contain 2nd person 'how-to' type instructions. They should be rewritten in appropriate tone under a 'Treatment' heading. Dallas 12:18, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
Fish are complicated=
editThere are so many conflicting ideas about fish-keeping, and this article does a poor job of representing them. Everywhere I'm going to research this offers multiple possible explanations, with sources for each: this article offers only one, and other articles I've found have specifically called out the source cited here (Hemdal) as merely an opinion that does not have much scientific research behind it. I'd like to see more explanations offered and some reasoning behind it. [1] [2] [3] [4] 67.191.227.143 (talk) 06:52, 30 January 2015 (UTC)Anonymous Fish Guy

- Indeed! Fortunately, since you wrote this, two comprehensive reviews have been published in professional journals, so we don't need to work with "grey" sources anymore: Amesberger-Freitag et al (2016) available here, and Dannemiller et al (2021) available here. The reviews are independent of each other, and arrive at similar conclusions; as for causes, the (German with English abstract) 2016 review is more detailed but focuses on the HITH manifestation, while the 2021 review is in English, has a wider scope (and documents how little dedicated research has been done), and covers both HITH and HALE with their respective symptoms. 2A02:908:4B33:BD80:0:0:0:20DF (talk) 17:44, 13 August 2023 (UTC)
