Do we really need a WikiPedia entry with so little information for this track on Michael Jacksons Dangerous album? WhizzBang 01:10, 15 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

This is now on the page:

"But in 2005, a new non-profit organization assumed the name as Heal the World, Inc. Run by a few Califonia residents, it aims to provide aid and assistance to children and adults who live in poverty both locally in California and in various developing countries through out the world. Their mission statement cites an intent to address the many problems in the world rather than "turning a blind eye to them"."

I tagged it with a template saying it was worded like an ad, but it was removed by the editor who originally wrote it. I still don't think it needs more than a one-sentence neutral statement about this organization. What do you all think? Mermaid from the Baltic Sea 06:47, 30 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Never mind, this has now been reverted by Ashadeofgrey. Thanks. Mermaid from the Baltic Sea 18:53, 30 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Heal The World.jpg

edit

Image:Heal The World.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:21, 5 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Anti-war category

edit

I have been removing the addition of Category:Anti-war songs because of WP:CATDEF. The supposed anti-war aspect of the song is not discussed in the article. If the category is to stand, some article text must be added describing how the song is anti-war, cited to a reliable source. Binksternet (talk) 19:06, 25 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

see the quote from Billboard. Also see the description of the music video. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.178.203.235 (talkcontribs)
The term "anti-war" is not the same as being for peace and healing. "Anti-war" is specifically about the Anti-war movement, a social movement involving taking a strong stance against a particular war or all war. Jackson's song is not part of that social movement. Nobody says explicitly that "Heal the World" is an anti-war song. Basically, you are making this up – a violation of WP:No original research. Binksternet (talk) 19:29, 25 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

While I do typically love citing WP:NOR myself, I would say that this user may be right. With lyrics like “ See the nations turn their swords into plowshares” there’s no doubt this is pretty anti-war, but it goes further than that. Since Wikipedia does in fact accept academic works, this piece does in fact spell the song out as an anti-war song: https://www.academia.edu/40112103/A_CRITICAL_ANALYSIS_OF_HEAL_THE_WORLD TruthGuardians (talk) 17:51, 26 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Right or wrong, there are authorized general sanctions against those who engage in sockpuppetry to edit Jackson-related pages. (CC) Tbhotch 17:57, 26 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
@TruthGuardians: Will you add your source to the article, or your are just pointlessly engaging in an edit-war? (CC) Tbhotch 18:08, 26 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
I’m aware of the sanctions, thank you kindly. Edit warring is a far cry of an accusation as to how I’m engaging here. I’ll add the source though and more content to the article in just a bit. Good day. TruthGuardians (talk) 18:15, 26 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
