editFirst, the link to 7.65mm Parabellum is wrong, because german police forces did not use 7.65 Parabellum, they used 7.65mm Browning, also known as .32 ACP. Second, the P7 is not blowback-operated and gas-delayed, the P7 is gas-operated and gas-delayed. On blowback pistols, the barrel moves, when the slide goes back, on the P7, the barrel is in fixed position relative to the frame. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.165.189.147 (talk) 19:54, 16 July 2012 (UTC) Sorry for the change in the article, but I wanted your attention to change quickly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.165.189.147 (talk) 20:02, 16 July 2012 (UTC)
Helloho! So you changed the link to the right 7.65mm caliber, but you still say the P7 is blowback operated, I repeat, it is gas operated! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.153.154.70 (talk) 20:24, 19 July 2012 (UTC)
Forget about that, I was wrong! I am sorry, at least I helped you to put in the right 7,65mm caliber! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.153.154.70 (talk) 20:38, 19 July 2012 (UTC)
Pictures
editI was asked to provide a new photo (like a year ago -- damn I'm timely!). Hopefully this is an improvement. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cortland (talk • contribs) 2006-07-12
- I can provide a photo too. I have one of those nickel-satin finish P7M8 guns. Anybody want a picture? But there seem to be enough pics in this article.
- Upon reading this article, I never realized that only about 500 nickel-satin P7M8s were made. Mine is the only gun I've ever owned and it's never been fired! Now I'm wondering if I should ever fire it, or keep it in pristine condition? =Axlq 01:02, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
Keep it pristine. Handle with white museum gloves only.24.158.42.120 (talk) 16:48, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
In fiction
editP7M13 is what Hans Gruber uses in "Die Hard I", and a P7M8, the gun of William Stranix from "Under Siege", as well as used in film "Armageddon" (episodic "Gun in Space"). More recent appearance is in the movie "Mr. and Mrs. Smith". Twice in the movie with difference finishes. Once Mrs. Smith takes one (hard chromed) out of the oven and another blued one on Eddie's desk. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.0.210.102 (talk) 15:43, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
"The Silence of the Lambs" scene in which FBI assaults wrong house (while Clarice, alone, interviews Buffalo Bill): Just as the line "There's no one here, Jack" is delivered you can plainly see the left side of a P7M8 in hands of the agent to Jack Crawford's left.24.158.42.120 (talk) 16:59, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
- Interesting, but irrelevant to this page. Koalorka (talk) 02:03, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Usage
editI have a source for the usage of the Heckler & Koch P7 in the Bavarian Police. Source is a radio news transmission of Munich radio station "Radio Gong 96.3" on 2017-04-05 ~11:00 in which they claim that Bavarian State Police uses 35000 Hk P7 guns which Bavarian government decided now to get replaced in the future. Can someboday please add this source in the article? It has not yet been decided which will be the new weapon btw. I guess(!) it was just a budgetary decision but as such confirms the usage of the old P7 guns. 178.15.8.147 (talk) 12:35, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
