Finthen, not Mainz

"Die Villa Claß, ein dreiseitig freistehendes Wohnhaus in der Prunkgasse, wurde ursprünglich 1850 erbaut. Um 1900 wurde das Haus durch Heinrich Claß aufgestockt und ein Erker, sowie ein heute nicht mehr vorhandener Altan aus Holz hinzugefügt. Die nördliche Giebelfassade zeigt über dem ehemaligen Bereich des Altan, dessen Zugangstür noch zu erkennen ist, eine restaurierte Jugendstilmalerei, bestehend aus Lebensbaum, Sonne und Fachwerk.
Der Mainzer Rechtsanwalt Claß, nach dem die Villa benannt wurde, war Vorsitzender des Alldeutschen Verbandes, welcher in Verbindung mit antirepublikanischer und antisemitischer Agitation die Errichtung einer „nationalen Diktatur“ forderte."
