I have made my own hotel booking through Agoda.com to
Egypt this August 2022
I received a confirmation email and a reference of the booking. They made me pay in advance ,so I used my credit card.
They withdrew the money.
I arrive in Cairo with my confirmation
Email at hand and expected to go into my chosen room . I was told that there was no booking in my name and that I had to repay again the same amount to the hotel to be able to enter the room.
Apparently, the hotel did not have a contract with Agoda ! Hotel confirmed that they never received any money from Agoda for my booking. The manager added that I was not the only customer
Who had this problem with Agoda.
Upon my return to Australia I chased my money with Agoda . They were giving me a hard time although ,I emailed them my confirmation email and my receipt from the hotel proving my payment upon arrival. They will make me wait 30 days for a refund. Please do not deal with Agoda, they are no good
