Talk:Hellsing Ultimate

Releases

Only four episodes have been released at the time of this writing, either in Japan or anywhere else. The article incorrectly states that five have been released - it should state that it's four, but ongoing. I'm shy, not editing. 208.191.142.29 (talk) 03:23, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

Name

Is this really the name of the OVA series or is it just the name of the box set? Just like the "Perfect Collection" or "Ultimate" seen with other series. --TheFarix (Talk) 03:30, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

the name of the ova's is hellsing ultimate. --147.26.232.92 04:46, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

No it isn't. The "Ultimate" tag was dropped last year, before the first volume was even released. Schrödinger 04:52, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
news to me...but i'm not really qualified to argue, so i'll take your word for it. --147.26.232.92 05:24, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
Check the official website, or the OVAs themselves. The word "ultimate" isn't used once. It was just used in very early promotional material. Schrödinger 06:03, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
But the new english version is titled "Hellsing Ultimate" —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.213.181.10 (talk) 17:06, 17 December 2006 (UTC).

The English version has the ultimate tag, the jp one does not. (there was probably an error when the project was taken up for dubbing.) Highcount. 18:48, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

Expansion/cleanup

Wow, this article needs a lot of work. To anybody who works on the other Hellsing articles: help me out! I fixed a bunch of stuff but I'm not very confident in my writing skills, so I'm reluctant to actually rewrite anything.

I was also wondering...since we have a separate page for the OVA series, shouldn't we make a page for the TV series as well? The main article deals with mostly the manga anyway (since it's the canon of the series and is ongoing)...I've talked about separating the TV series info from the manga/OVA info on the Hellsing talk page before...just some food for thought. The TV series is alternate universe and non-canon, so it would make the articles much easier to work with, much less confusing, and more accurate if we kept the two separate.

It might be a good idea to have a general Hellsing article to act as a hub, and link it to articles concerning the TV series, manga series, and OVA series; respectively.

i added some stuff, and revised some stuff; but its hard to write a lot about a series that is incomplete. --147.26.232.92 05:26, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
No it isn't- check out the Icelandic version. --BiT 15:28, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Could someone clear up what relevance the band Judas Priest has to Hellsing? Integra refers to Judas [1] while explaining Iscariot ("Section 13, which bears the name of Judas and is not supposed to exist."). I highly doubt she was referring to the band, and I personally can't figure what said band would have to do with anything--beyond bearing the same name as what Alucard calls Anderson. I think that particular piece of trivia should read something along the lines of "...a reference to the 'Judas Iscariot' mentioned in the Bible." Melfina-chan 18:25, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

Hellsing I

There are optical differences between the ghouls in the village and those in ireland, and I added those differences under trivia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.174.236.62 (talk) 12:31, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

Hellsing II

According to a seller on eBay & the official site, there's either a new series or belated 2ed season.

Hellsing II is the name of the second OVA. Schrödinger 05:24, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

Hellsing Ultimate III Resources

I recently added a good deal of info into the Third OVA on the storyline, while making these my attempt to link the resources didn't work.

Here's what I used:

Took out direct links to my server from your post, AlaskanJesus. I believe I have written in my page, rather big enough for everyone to read, that I don't want it to be linked anywhere, and I don't remember anyone asking me permission to put it in Wikipedia. Sorry, but I think it's better this way than starts banning the whole Wikipedia site off my server ^_^ --Saphire diablo 10:59, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Hellsing ova

I'm not sure if you can do anything about this, but I type in Hellsing ova and get taken to the search page. Perhaps can you keyword or set it up so if you don't capitalize ova you will still be taken to this page. Hellsing OVA takes you to this page, Hellsing ova takes you to the search page. More a matter of conveinence than anything. 204.78.0.199 17:19, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

OVA III release date

would it be desirable ot remove the current releas date from the infobox seeing as it is far past that date at the current time and at any point in the future? Tnu1138 02:44, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

The third OVA has been released — in Japan. Were you trying to say that we should remove it because it wasn't out in the US on that date? We should keep the release dates of all the "episodes" in the infobox, whether it's past the time or not. However, we should also add the US release dates, to avoid this kind of confusion again. OVA IV release date

It looks to me that the date here is made up, as the official website does not have the new date, wait until the page is updated or list your sources. I will revert the page for now. --Hamster2.0 21:23, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

It wasn't made up, it was taken from several Japanese retailers (CDJapan, for example). In the case of all three previous OVA releases, the retailers revealed the final release date long before Geneon updated their website. This is moot now, though, as said retailers aren't listing that date anymore. So now we have no idea when the release date is. This month's issue of YKO had an ad for OVA IV in it and no date was given. Schrödinger 16:35, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
I heard somewhere it was released on November fifth. Any truth to this? I'm afraid I can not read Japanese. --12.207.142.70 17:01, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
Nope. Schrödinger 21:34, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Im not sure were to place the information, but from what I have gathered there are to be only 10 volumes of the Hellsing Manga. Therefore, we can determine that Geneon once they get their affairs in order will be making atleast 7 or 8 volumes of the Hellsing Ultimate. Although, as for the Hellsing Dawn making an appearence in the OVA beyond the credits is still in the air, I have not heard anything about such an addition except from wiki. None of the information I have in terms of the Manga count and the number of OVA can be verified beyond what people say on the forums. Therefore I did not add it to the artical, but we will see if anyone can find something. --63.215.27.59 06:16, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

Prices

umm... is it really necessary to list the prices? This is available in Japan, the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Korea... I could go on. I don't want to change it without discussing it first, but the price doesn't seem like a relevent factor, unlike products where there is competition or a format war. It just seems to bloat the article and reduce the quality and readbility.121.44.203.68 11:14, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

I think the motivation for listing the prices is that they're one of the major distinguishing factors between the different editions (Regular, Limited, and Exclusive). Though, maybe it's obvious enough without listing the prices that a reduced-feature edition would be sold at lower cost?

Information on OVA IV Dubbing and Additional Release Information

I am wondering where you got your information that the dubbing has started taking place already? The article states "see below for additional information," but no information on OVA IV was given. I have further heard that Geneon has actully shut down, so isn't it unlikely that OVA IV will ever be released in North America? Of course, I got all of this information from a livejournal community: http://community.livejournal.com/hellsing/profile, so it may be innacurate. Still, could you maybe cite your sources for the dubbing of OVA IV? Plonchky 00:51, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

Straight from the dub director himself. (executivegoth = Taliesin Jaffe)
New Generation Pictures produces the dub, not Geneon. The only thing Hellsing lacks right now is a distributor. Schrödinger 14:08, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
It's interesting that you mentioned the "see below for additional information" line. I'm going to remove that one line, as it doesn't seem to add anything to the article, and doesn't actually belong in an encyclopedia article even if it did add something too it. If there are any objections to removing this line, please discuss them here. Brash (talk) 09:00, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
Here is an interesting read - any news on this? Also, the last comment, about information from UK Amazon, is also interesting. --12.206.2.162 (talk) 19:13, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

Das Einheitsfrontlied/Englandlied

There are a error. Is not Das Einheitsfrontlied. It is clearly das Englandlied. The person who has put that the song on the four ova credits is Das Einheitsfrontlied it have no idea about german military marchs. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.41.165.70 (talk) 20:37, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
