Comment: This reads too much like a resume and promotion for the subject; Wikipedia is not a tenure file. The article could be 2/3 shorter and be better for it. For starters, I suggest that the long list of publications be removed. Also, please remove external links from the article body. K.e.coffman (talk) 21:36, 16 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
Comment: To be considered again! There are tens of newspaper articles available, and tens of national radio programs (many of which are also available as podcasts) where she is featuring. My suggestion is that this article could be published with some additional sources and minor corrections, using article name Helmi Järviluoma-Mäkelä. Also, external links included in the text of the current article version should be removed; one could use these as references instead. Moreover, one should create a redirect page Helmi Järviluoma, as she uses her former name Järviluoma when publishing. More detailed discussion below.--Paju~enwiki (talk) 00:36, 17 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
Comment: All the sources appear to be self-published? Please provide some major newspaper profiles of this person. they don't have to be in English, but something to show us that this person is recognized to be a notable person. Milowent • hasspoken20:35, 18 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Finnish wikipedia has now an article about professor Järviluoma-Mäkelä (Helmi Järviluoma-Mäkelä) with proper references. The starting page of Finnish Wikipedia links to this fiwiki article. Fiwiki article also lists many but not all of her books with ISBN numbers. Her book published by SAGE (in English) is used as a reference e.g. by enwiki article Janet Jackson. Wikidata entry about Järviluoma-Mäkelä (Q26484115) has been updated as well.
Last week (Jan. 11, 2019), the Finnish Union of University Professors (Professoriliitto, Q11888878) selected her as the recipient of Professor of the Year in 2019 -title (Q27895945), original news: https://www.professoriliitto.fi/?x23370=941133 (in Finnish), referred by several national & regional newspapers in Finland, e.g. regional newspaper Karjalainen published in Joensuuhttps://www.karjalainen.fi/uutiset/uutis-alueet/maakunta/item/206012 (in Finnish). During last 15 or so years she has been mentioned / interviewed in some 30+ articles by this regional newspaper. The recent article published after her nomination a week ago states that Järviluoma-Mäkelä has been a visiting researcher/professor e.g. in Shanghai & Nanjing (China), Liverpool & London (UK) ja Alcalá (Spain). As already mentioned in the draft article, she is member of the Finnish Academy of Science and Letters which selection ranks her among the best professors in her field in Finland. She has been a regular guest in a radio program Äänien ilta (Evening of sounds, in Finnish, available e.g. through https://areena.yle.fi/1-2022624 ; and https://yle.fi/aihe/artikkeli/2013/04/11/aanien-illoissa-kuunnellaan-kadonneitakin-aania although I am not sure if one can listen these abroad) by Yleisradio (Finnish Broadcasting Company, Q54718). In 2012, she was also creating the format for this nationally broadcasted radio program. Publication Suomen professorit 1640-2007 (WD: Q26484115) has an article about her on page 249 with many more facts.
Based on Suomen professorit 1640-2007, she (using name Helmi Järviluoma) was member of the Executive Committee and publishing director of the Interntl. Association for the Study of Popular Music in 1995–97. She has been correspondent of Soundscape. The Journal of Acoustic Ecology since 2000– (e.g. soundartarchive.net/articles/journal%20of%20acoustic%20ecology%201.pdf), member of the International Advisory Board of journal Popular Music (Cambridge Univ. Press) 2002– (still is, https://www.cambridge.org/core/journals/popular-music/information/editorial-board) and in the editorial board of journal Popular Music History (Continuum) 2003– (still is, https://journals.equinoxpub.com/index.php/PMH/about/editorialTeam). And so on. professor Järviluoma-Mäkelä is clearly a notable person. --Paju~enwiki (talk) 00:36, 17 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
One could also note that there are also several newspaper articles about Järviluoma-Mäkelä published by Helsingin Sanomat (in Finnish), the largest newspaper in Finland (and all Nordic countries). Unfortunately most of these require subscription of this newspaper:
