Hello! On behalf of Guardant Health, and as part of my work at Beutler Ink, I'd like to propose some changes to Wikipedia related to the company and its co-founders, Helmy Eltoukhy and AmirAli Talasaz. Currently, Guardant Health redirects to Eltoukhy's biography, which has a section about the company, and there is no entry for Talasaz even though his biography is similar to Eltoukhy's. The "Guardant Health" section in Eltoukhy's biography has a sizable amount of text which is not specific to Eltoukhy, and mentions Talasaz more than once.
Having a single entry for Eltoukhy, Guardant Health, and Talasaz may have been appropriate at one time, but I'd like to think the expanded drafts I've shared about the company and Talasaz (here and here, respectively) show that Wikipedia could benefit from covering these three topics separately. For the Guardant Health entry, I've drafted a neutral overview of the company's history, funding, business model and operations, leadership, products, and litigation. For the Talasaz entry, I've drafted a summary of his educational background, career, board service, and recognition. You may notice some similarities to the Helmy Eltoukhy entry because the two have had similar career trajectories. Both are entrepreneurs who studied at Stanford, worked for Illumina, Inc., developed new biopsy methods, and co-founded Guardant Health.
I've tried my best to draft two entries that are accurate, neutral, and based on Wikipedia-appropriate sourcing. I've worked to avoid redundancy, though of course the three entries will refer to each other. My goal is to have the drafts taken live, and I would welcome improvements to any of the three entries involved here. I recognize this sort of content reshuffle can be tricky, or require a more scalpelled approach, which is why I'd like to solicit editor feedback before formally submitting any requests. I have disclosed my COI on all three Talk pages.
Are any editors willing to provide feedback on the two drafts I've shared? I would also welcome moves into the main space or suggestions for how to move forward in terms of process. I am happy to address questions or concerns here or on my user Talk page. Thanks in advance for any assistance! Inkian Jason (talk) 15:59, 2 October 2023 (UTC)
Link request
edit@Novo Tape: I see you've added a link to Guardant Health at Foundation Medicine, following the acceptance of Draft:Guardant Health at Articles for Creation. Would you be willing to add links to Guardant Health in the infobox and article body of Helmy Eltoukhy? I don't believe the entries are connected currently, but I don't edit articles directly given my conflict of interest. Thanks! Inkian Jason (talk) 21:34, 7 November 2023 (UTC)
- Sure, I'm on mobile right now but will add it later today. It's worth noting I have a COI with Roche and subsidiaries which are considered competitors to Guardant. Sincerely, Novo Tape (She/Her)My Talk Page 21:39, 7 November 2023 (UTC)
