Fair use rationale for Image:Henry's Cat.gif
editImage:Henry's Cat.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
1982, Not 1980

First season episodes are copyright dated 1983, not 1982
editThe original first season episodes of Henry's Cat are dated 1983, not 1982. This indicates that the first season was not originally broadcast in 1982, but the following year. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.142.181.168 (talk) 19:55, 27 July 2013 (UTC)
- Henry's Cat was first shown on BBC1 in September 1983. This is reliably sourced, so the unsourced additions stating otherwise are becoming disruptive.--♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 06:05, 2 March 2014 (UTC)
Edit warring
editAt the moment, the article is experiencing slow motion edit warring with various edits being made and reverted repeatedly. Henry's "MEOW!" in the title sequence [1] is pretty clearly intended to be a spoof of Leo the Lion (MGM). However, this is unsourced and could be seen as original research. Also, the YouTube video here shows that the lion spoof was also used in Series 2 (this episode is The Weatherman). There needs to be more care here with sourcing rather than simply adding and reverting, otherwise the article is likely to be locked, which would not be helpful.--♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 18:47, 6 May 2014 (UTC)
- There is one user who edits from a IPv6 address making the same edits repeatedly without discussing them on the talk page. This is becoming disruptive. Please could anyone who wants to edit this article register an account. Also, if you disagree with another users' edits, please provide a reliable source and discuss the edits on the talk page if necessary.--♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 05:42, 8 May 2014 (UTC)
Edits by 24.5.245.119
edit24.5.245.119 has added the same material repeatedly without a single attempt at sourcing or discussion on the talk page. This is now a form of disruptive editing, because it fails to respond to the concerns raised by other editors. I've left a a new message at User talk:24.5.245.119.--♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 07:18, 26 June 2014 (UTC)
First air date again
editHenry's Cat was first broadcast on BBC1 at 5:35 PM on Monday 12 September 1983.[2]. Unfortunately things are not helped by some unreliable online sourcing saying otherwise, but this is the correct date.--♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 06:45, 21 February 2015 (UTC)
- There is some more sourcing that gets it right here, here and here with a contemporary TV guide. The first episode to be broadcast was The Race on 12 September 1983. The first series episodes are copyrighted to 1983, eg The Race here. What has not helped is that the official website henryscat.com episode guide correctly says that there were five series, but wrongly says that the first series was broadcast in 1982.[3] This error has been picked up and repeated elsewhere on the web.--♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 11:04, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
