Creating "Heads of USC&GS" template

My attempt to create an infobox for the Superintendents and Directors of USC&GS failed. A "template loop" was detected?

I modified the infobox from Frances Perkins; and created the following: {:{Infobox Heads of USC&GS | name= | image= | order= | title= | term_start= | president= | term_end= | predecessor= | successor= | birth_date= | birth_place= | death_date= | death_place= | honors= }}

This is obviously not the way to go ...?

However, I need to stop for now; and the tentative "draft" is simply posted here until I can devote a little more time to investigating further. If someone stumbles across this in the meantime, so much the better. Obviously, I could use some help.

Perhaps it would be better to used infobox from Hotta Masayoshi?

Why not use something like the pre-existing "officeholder" template?
