I am aware that Henry the Fowler was never crowned emperor, and that thus the emperor known as "Henry II" was the first actualy Holy Roman Emperor to bear that name. But I've never anywhere seen him called "Henry I," and I'd be very interested to see any evidence that any historians ever call him this. That numbering is not always logical does not give us the right to go about making up our own alternative numbering schemes and attributing them to "historians". john k (talk) 03:18, 18 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
