This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because... I compared the article to the answers.com article pointed to in the CSD notice. While the article is based in part on the answers.com article, I don't see any extended sections of copied text. Given this, the CSD is not uncontroversial and the CSD should be declined. --Mark viking (talk) 05:30, 22 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

There did appear to be major sections that were copied or close-paraphrased; I traced their addition back, and some had been lightly edited more recently as well, making them inexact matches. But close-paraphrase, strung-together quotes, and even edited versions of a copyvio original are all not allowed. I therefore reverted back to just prior to the addition of the content in question. Well, I don't see it. You should visit Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Medicine#Cancer syndrome, where this issue is being discussed. --Mark viking (talk) 07:23, 22 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Selection of syndromes

edit

Does anybody know on what basis the eight cancer syndromes in the Syndromes section were chosen? It surely cannot be exhaustive as there are other syndromes mentioned in the Genetics section. Would it not make more sense to simply allow people to follow hyperlinks to the relevant pages? If there is a particular selection, e.g., on the basis of prevalence of the syndromes, then I think this should be made explicit. Ts4079 (talk) 10:51, 22 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Its not complete but I'm working through the list slowly but surely and any help is welcome. I am currently doing a bit on ataxia telangiectasia. I have added this section because on the diseases are often not primarily cancer focused and therefore the individual page focus is not necessarily on the disorder with respect to cancer.Simon Caulton (talk) 16:23, 22 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
