Whiteware

Pinging significant editors of article: @WereItNotSoSimple, SFBB, and Augmented Seventh: (Please note that I am not knowledgeable in ceramics) The section Biography contains the phrase applying glazes and engobes to whiteware ceramic with whiteware linked. Whiteware redirects to pottery which does not mention whiteware. Should this link be changed? Porcelain does not appear include many ceramics that are classified as whiteware. Earthenware is rather broad. Should an article "whiteware" be created? BTW: The article White Ware (interestingly capped) is about limestone plaster. White ware is about appliances. @Adakiko: Two things:

1. Whiteware should definitely do not redirect to pottery. What's the best solution, I do not know, but it's obvious that pottery is much much wider (both meaning the actual product as well as the technico-cultural aspects).
2. I this particular case, the sentence should rather refer to Soft-paste porcelain.

@SFBB: Change it from ...applying glazes and engobes to [[whiteware]] ceramics. to ...applying glazes and engobes to [[Soft-paste porcelain|whiteware]] ceramics.? ...applying glazes and engobes to [[soft-paste porcelain]] ceramics.? @SFBB: per the source page xi: "After graduation, Seger, equipped with thorough knowledge, turned to technology and undertook first the management of the alum and vitriol works Kreuzkirche at Neuwied on the Rhine." I changed "aluminum and metal" to "alum and vitrol". link to source 13:39, 1 August 2024 (UTC)
