Phoenikes

edit

Hello Waacstats, I hope you see this message. I saw you added Hermias' nickname "ek Phoenikes" (from Phoenikes), although he was born in Alexandria. Do you know why was Hermias called "ek Phoenikes", and do you remember what was your source to that nickname?

I tag JEN9841, Andrew Lancaster and Carchasm, the task force of Wikipedia:WikiProject Philosophy/Ancient, because it seems Waacstats is no longer active in Wikipedia. פעמי-עליון (talk) 09:22, 21 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

I just checked Trevor Curnow's Philosophers of the Ancient World, which I have a copy of, and it looks like Hermias of Phoenicia is a different Hermias who lived in the time of Damascius. I've updated the page to remove phoenicia. - car chasm (talk) 15:00, 21 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thanks a lot! I will update the Hebrew article as well. פעמי-עליון (talk) 18:27, 21 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Oops, I'm used to see the editor of the edit in differences between revisions in the left, like in Hebrew. Thanks for the correction Liad! פעמי-עליון (talk) 20:43, 21 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
