That this is the same topic as Hex board goes without saying. My only hesitation is as to which tittle to reduce to a redirect.Dejvid 17:56, 20 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

I think maybe the wording should be changed in the section that reads "Chinese Checkers and several variants of chess have also been invented for a hex board". This reads as if Chinese Checkers doesn't normally use a hex board. "Chinese Checkers" (aka. "Sternhalma" or "Star Halma") is a variant of the game "Halma" which differs in that it uses a hex grid laid out in the shape of a star rather than the 16x16 square-grid that Halma uses. The hex grid may not be apparent because most boards only show the lines connecting from each hexagon's center to it's adjacent hexagon's centers rather than showing the outlines of the hexagons themselves. Nevertheless, the pieces still move along a hex grid, with 6 possible directions to move from each position. I also wonder if this is perhaps the oldest known board game to use a hex grid. I am not aware of any which are older. This game was invented in 1892. Not old at all by board game standards, but none of the older board games i am familiar with use a hex grid. -- 17:41, 7 August 2021 71.92.198.151
