  • Should 'honky tonk' have a hyphen?
  • "had "folded and was absorbed" by" - I think this would work better without the quote, just say what happened
  • Since you already introduce her quote with "Cook said:", I don't think you need to specify "— Elizabeth Cook, The Standard-Journal", at the bottom of the quote.
  • The lead said she was compared "primarily" to Dolly Parton, though the body doesn't expand on this or even repeat it really. It just lists Parton and several other artists together.
  • "is built . around" - stray period
  • "the singer's naivety would hinder her success" - does he clarify in what manner she was naive?
  • "Edd Hurt of the Nashville Scene wrote" - I'd specify when he wrote this
