A real article for Hidan

edit
(conversation moved from Talk:Akatsuki (Naruto)/Archive 6#A real article for Hidan)

I have a quote from Tjstrf, "This article is supposed to be on the organization to begin with, not the characters. They're only here as a holding pen until they have enough info to be split".Sam ov the blue sand 00:06, 28 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

... Which as I said above, I don't think Hidan has. ~SnapperTo 00:13, 28 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
All he has is what's here (which could probably be trimmed pretty easily), two paragraphs of what he did, and one more possible paragraph if he ever comes back.
Aside from that, he's a pretty minor villain that really didn't do anything of much importance besides kill a secondary character. That's really not note worthy. Nemu 00:23, 28 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
In the page he has now there is nothing about what he has done in fights like the other articles have done so that can be added then there's a lot of detail on his abilities so I believe there could be more information than there already is and I think his article would be larger than the Third Hokage, Haku, and Zabuza articles.Sam ov the blue sand 17:25, 28 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
And you'll notice that the Third Hokage no longer has a main article. I'm inclined to do the same with Zabuza, but I don't know where I'd move him to.
Just go ahead and do what you want with Hidan (Naruto). Depending on what you do with it, maybe I'll support you in allowing it to be more than a redirect (or a redlink as it currently is). ~SnapperTo 21:06, 28 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for a least letting me do that. I'll get to it some time this week, as of now I have too many school projects and essays to do.Sam ov the blue sand 23:59, 29 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
I'm ready now, 3 essays and 2 projects did kinda slow me down and I guess so does being sick today.Sam ov the blue sand 01:01, 3 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
I'm finished and I'm going to play Call of Duty 3 for a little while.Sam ov the blue sand 01:59, 3 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Now you see, that's about the job I thought you'd do. The first five paragraphs are word for word copies of what was in this article, the only difference being that you moved a sentence to the next paragraph. The infobox for some reason has Sasori's information (Ring: 玉 gyoku, Left thumb), though I imagine that's merely an oversight. So, that leaves us with the plot summary: it's acceptable, having only a few errors that are to be expected with extensive typing. It is, however, much longer than it needs to be, with a number of things explained in the first five paragraphs being repeated and also a number of trivial events that aren't relevant to Hidan or simply aren't important being detailed.
These problems can of course be fixed, but the fact remains that this is not the level of effort that should be put into making an article. Given what the article's length will likely be once these points are addressed, it probably would be long enough to constitute remaining. I'll support the article's fate in redirecting or continued existence, but I ask of you Sam: put more effort into the articles that you so dearly want to create. ~SnapperTo 04:06, 3 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Not to interrupt, but shouldn't be discussing changes to HIdan (Naruto) here than here? I mean, this is for Akatsuki. Cheers! Tohru Honda13 04:27, 3 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Snapper2 Why don't you try a whole week of school after you have gone to school for a full 4 days in the past 3 weeks and see what you care about spelling mistakes and repeating somethings. And it is because of that I made the plot too long I was trying to find thing only relevant to Hidan but like every human being stress will get to you and you will get sick like I am so I did the best I could in my condition (I think it's strepthrote or maybe the Flu). But thanks for acknowledging my accomplishments and my faults so maybe on my next article , when I'm not sick, it will be better than this one. And thanks for thinking I could do it. Gubitz OUT! (aka, good night).Sam ov the blue sand 05:24, 3 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
And plus don't say i don't try hard I've tried twice to get Ace Combat X Fictional aircraft back from deletion but have failed both times.Sam ov the blue sand 05:29, 3 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
I've tried going to school for a full 0 days over the course of three months numerous times, yet I've never found that to inhibit my spelling ability, especially in the age of spell check. But why should that matter?
My point was that nobody was forcing you to create this article and nobody would have been disappointed if you hadn't. Still, you did create it, and yet you didn't do the job that a 13-year-old should be able to ("Does it say X somewhere already?") Perhaps I'm expecting too much, and maybe simple copying and pasting bugs me more than it should, but I think you could have done better than you chose to.
Also, because I seem to be picking on you for reasons unknown, I will say that you did better with this article than you did with Sasori (if that helps at all). ~SnapperTo 06:04, 3 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
What I meant by the school reference was that I had 11 days of make up work to do and I simply didn't have the time. And last time I checked wikipedia doesn't have spell check and about copy and pasting if it's there then why not use it, it beats having to write the whole thing down if it will sound just like if I copy and pasted it. "Still, you did create it, and yet you didn't do the job that a 13-year-old should be able to ("Does it say X somewhere already?")", The fist part sounds as if you insinuating that I have a mental diffencicy and I have no clue what the second part means, so do you mine explaining?Sam ov the blue sand 22:23, 3 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Enough arguing. You could have done better, plain and simple. School isn't an excuse. If anything, you should be writing better if that's the case. Regardless, just because Wiki doesn't have SpellCheck, doesn't mean you can get something checked. Google a word and you get the proper spelling. Firefox 2 even has built-in SpellCheck. You could even use Word. The point is, you could have done better, and you're far too obsessed with making articles in the first place. Edit existing ones instead of lurking on talk pages for something to drag out. – Someguy0830 (T | C) 22:32, 3 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Oh like there's anything to do to existing articles you guys take all of that for your selves and when I do edit something you two just revert it and then I revert back and then I stay away from there and stay on the talk pages and now you tell me to go back to the articles, so which is it?Sam ov the blue sand 23:18, 3 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Don't start getting all defensive. Your edits were likely reverted for good reasons. No doubt said reasons were outlined for you at least half the time. The point is, almost half of your edits are talk pages edits (see here). You can edit other articles. Don't act like it's impossible. – Someguy0830 (T | C) 23:27, 3 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
And so what, I like the talk pages there is no rule saying that I have to mostly edit articles. I just edited Kabuto article and most likely you will revert said edit. And about the talk pages i do that so no one will be as confused as me when I first came here because you sure were a lot of help.Sam ov the blue sand 23:43, 3 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
See what I mean? Oh and I edited Sakura's article too and now you will most likely revert that too.Sam ov the blue sand 00:26, 4 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
What I meant was that you should at the very least be able to distinguish what is and what isn't already mentioned. That alone would have helped a great deal. My reference to 13 year-olds is because your user page at one time said you were 13; it wasn't an attempt at an insult. I regret mentioning the two spelling mistakes as they really don't matter, especially on teh internetz. Also, if you want something to do, make Naruto Uzumaki a shorter article. You can't say it doesn't need it. ~SnapperTo 00:53, 4 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Sorry how I got all defensive there, the stress finally got to me I guess and well I snapped. I am 13. And I am getting FireFox but I still don't get why Wikipedia doesn't have spell check. And I hope you can accept my apology and forgive and forget.Sam ov the blue sand 03:06, 4 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
And about Zabuza and Haku try to make an article detailing missing nin and possible missing nin and add Zabuza and Haku there. Or put them in the Character section and put them under "non playable characters". And I guess I will try at Naruto.Sam ov the blue sand 03:09, 4 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm curious as to why Hidan has his own article, but Itachi, a character who is way more important, does not. JuJube 09:42, 19 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Because most of what is known about Itachi is background information? Also, nobody's ever made an attempt to give him an article past copying and pasting what's in the Akatsuki article. And since there isn't enough information about Itachi in the Akatsuki article to warrant its own article, it always gets reverted. ~SnapperTo 20:32, 19 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Also, Hidan's time in the manga looks to be over. When an Akatsuki member is defeated, they should get their own article giving a wrapup on the character. Just like his partner Kakuzu. Itachi still has a long way to go. Dasherman 20:49, 19 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
No if the member has enough information and are dead/unreplaced then they warrant their own article.Sam ov the blue sand 23:45, 19 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Bounty hunter

edit

Okay: Isn't he a bounty hunter, and a character who can resurrect himself? If so, he should be within those categories... Power level (Dragon Ball) 06:18, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

  1. Kakuzu hunts bounties. Hidan is dragged along.
  2. Hidan has to die to ressurect. As he unable to die, he cannot resurrect.

So no, he doesn't belong. — Someguy0830 (T | C) 06:23, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

What about when his head got sliced off by that Asuma bastard? His head just glued back on. Power level (Dragon Ball) 06:30, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Again, he was not dead. Resurrection requires that one be actually be dead, then gets back up. Want an example, see the Doctor. — Someguy0830 (T | C) 06:35, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
The leader confirmed he was dead in chapter 353. 24.229.191.54 13:19, 12 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
And he didn't come back, now did he. Shikotsumyaku 12:52, 2 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hidan's Village

edit

The article says that we don't know were Hidan is from but it look's like a Grass Village headband to me. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ghadden (talkcontribs) 00:17, 24 February 2007 (UTC).Reply

It has to me confirmed for us to put that. We can't put what it looks like to us. Tohru Honda13 00:23, 24 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
In fact I see very little resemblance between Hidans symbol and Grass Village. Hidans symbol is three separated diagonal stroks, Grass Village looks like someone just drowe a pencil up and down a couple of times in a attempt to make a "M" and a "N".Jacce 09:41, 24 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
It looks like this, ///, so it cannot be any village that we know about.Sam ov the blue sand 22:33, 26 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
The Grass symbol is connected whereas Hidan's village is three separate lines. (Neosystems 14:32, 22 April 2007 (UTC))Reply

It is most likely unknown, but if any known village, it is Rain.

It is clearly unknown, we have no clue to a known village.Jacce 10:10, 29 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

well, the symbol on hidan's headband ||| if you turn it side ways it's the meteorology symbol for fog acording to what i'v heard,so,and this is just a speculation but do you think the unknown village he's from might turn out to be the village hidden in fog.Allen Walker 08:37, 25 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

If thats the case then Hidan was given a miss-printed headband, as the symbol would be right side up.--24.56.216.190 01:44, 5 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hidan's Immortality

edit

Are we ever told the reason for Hidan's immortality? Does it have something to do with his religion or the patterns on the ground he makes during prayer and in battle? (Neosystems 14:57, 22 April 2007 (UTC))Reply

It's unknown. Sephiroth BCR 16:54, 22 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Strangely enough, Kakuzu had said no one's really immortal, which kinda questions Hidan's immortality. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Artist Formerly Known As Whocares (talkcontribs)

Hidan's Debut

edit

You know, he technically debuted in the anime in his hologram form in episode 12. Could anyone else have pink-colored eyes? His head silhouette also look like his head shape. I mean, if the Akatsuki leader's appearance as a hologram counts for as a debut, then surely Hidan's appearance in his hologram form should count as well.

The Akatsuki leader's only appearance has been as hologram (with a few other half and 90% appearances). This is not the case for Hidan, hence his being referred to as having first appeared when he was more than a shadowy figure. ~SnapperTo 03:23, 5 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
I agree, Hidan doesn't appear in any meaningful sense until the fight with Yugito. Retlor 02:43, 6 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

i belive in the manga hidan says that he haveing i hard time finding bijuu though in the anime its the unknown member who says it.

The person who says it in the anime is Hidan. The purple eyes and his hologram don't give it away? Sephiroth BCR 17:53, 12 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
It was a cameo appearance. It doesnt count. --24.56.197.128 21:41, 13 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Headband

edit

Judging by his headband it looks like the symbols are waves. He's probaly from hidden wave village. Seth103

There is no "Hidden Wave Village." He isn't from Kirigakure or Amegakure, as his headband does not correspond with either. Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 22:18, 28 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

acctualy I belive i saw it on a map of the countries in the japanese naruto website with a breif description, maby later ill bring the link.
