About the Birth Date
editAccording to Japanese version, Fujisawa Hideyuki's birth date is June 14. This English version says that it is June 19. Which one is correct? --Neo-Jay 02:27, 15 January 2006 (UTC)
- Hrm, well GoGameWorld says June 19th, but GoBase says June 14th. I think it should be changed to June 14th, since I find GoBase more reliable. Plus, the Japanese version has it. I feel that that version has the correct date. Thanks for noticing it :)

Struggle to 9 dan
editFujisawa turned pro in 1940 and it took him a while to get to the top. He struggled at first, taking 23 years just to reach 9 dan, but then started a title run in the early 60's, 70's, and 80's.
Unlike the modern time, it was rare to reach 9 dan back in his days. His promotion was consistent with other players of his period. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.14.46.79 (talk) 02:32, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
real estate
editArticle state that Fujisawa was successful at real estate, that is contrary to his wife's book and a number of Fujisawa's own remarks in (go) newspaper articles.
In short there appear to be 2 main reasons why Fujisawa was not succesfull at real estate 1) He didn't have the heart to make cut-throat busines decisions 2) Many go players (there're newspaper pictures of this) would come and hang out at the real estate office which would turn into a go-parlor (serving whiskey) for days on end.
(and there of course always is 3) his drinking which would render Fujisawa unable to perform any kind of work)
It is, however, true that Fujisawa once or twice made money with real estate. But, this was not as much because of his keen busines sense as it was because (rich) people who respected him as a go player would ask him to help them sell/ buy a lot thus sponsoring Fujisawa indirectly with a big commision.
Fujisawa tried his hands on several types of businesses, even a few which should have thrived, but he managed to run each and everyone of them in the ground because of his unchanging bohemian life style and gentle heart.
