It looks pretty good to me. Maybe a few more links. Can someone be more specific about what work it needs? RJFJR 12:14, 2 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

It tends to explain the undefined by the means of the more undefined. -ooze2b —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ooze2b (talkcontribs) 16:42, 7 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Removal of Uncategorization Stub Status

edit

I added categories and removed the "Uncategorized Stub" notation. I will add further categories that may be appropriate as I come across them... Stevenmitchell 01:49, 1 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

What is the connection to Category:Peace churches, Category:Anti-war, and Category:Nonviolence? If there is any, it should be mentioned in the actual text. --Iustinus 05:10, 1 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Jesus example

edit

Is this another stupid thing saying that the Jews killed Jesus? Please use a different example. Like the fact that cops can arrest someone but only a judge can sentence that person to death. ForestAngel 22:35, 5 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Well, do note that the text specifies that this is according to the New Testament story, and furthermore says Jewish Leaders. In other words, not only does it not blame all Jews, but it also, at least as it currently stands, is not making any assertions to the truth of the story. I confess that I am also sensitive about this issue, and that this is one of the reasons I worked on and watched this article to begin with, but I don't think it's as bad as you seem to. That said, perhaps a less charged example would be better. But I'm not sure your police vs. judges example is really what this term refers to. --Iustinus 23:57, 5 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

"Judicial rights" redirects here but is not even mentioned in the article

edit

WP:MOS requires that redirects are mentioned and if necessary explained in the text of the article they redirect to. The redirected term should even be bolded. --Mais oui! (talk) 15:39, 22 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Petty/petit confusion

edit

re: my recent edit

"Petty authorities" as it was used in the lede section implied a relatively neutral diminutive sense of "petty" akin to "petty official" itself similar to usage in "petit jury" and "petty offence". All reference an older usage of "petit/petty" meaning simply "of lesser rank" (as opposed to more modern derogatory connotations). I removed the mismatched and presently redirected "petty tyranny" wikilink applied to "petty authorities" then changed the phrasing to "lesser authorities" so as to hopefully avoid such confusion in future.
