editIs there a reliable source for the name High Fens? The name of the nature park in both the French and German versions of the official website is Hohes Venn. The only book source I have is Dickinson (1964)[1] which says "...to the foot of the Hohes Venn, whose southerly continuation is the Belgian Hautes Fagnes." --Bermicourt (talk) 19:54, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
- ^ Dickinson, Robert E (1964). Germany: A regional and economic geography (2nd ed.). London: Methuen. ASIN B000IOFSEQ.
- Did you try Google searching Hautes Fagnes? This was one I found. The "official website" of which you speak it the official website of the nature park, which is in Germany and the German-speaking Community of Belgium, so I wouldn't be surprised they don't have the French name in a very prominent place. Although this page calls it the Hautes Fagnes all the time. And I would think High Fens is an English translation for linguistic neutrality, although I do see other sources using it. - I think the key question here is "What do reliable English sources call it?" The official websites are, of course, not in English and the only English source I have is quoted above and doesn't translate the name. I just wondered if anyone else has come across authoritative English books or websites that give us a steer. --Bermicourt (talk) 11:12, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
