Co-production

edit

According to the sources, this is a French-Canadian coproduction:

  • [1]: "Primarily a French/Canadian coproduction"
  • [2]: "Far from being actually unbounded, the cosmopolitanism of Highlander emerged from the input of a number of nationally based participating partners. Thus does the production of Highlander portend to a number of significant innovations in the rise of international co-production in in the television industry. As a co-production between France's Gaumont Television and Telefilm, the unobstructed series found financial production participation ..." (long list of companies that invested in the series follows)
  • [3]: this source mostly talks about financial issues, but it explicitly mentions "France, Germany, Italy and Japan" as investors amid a long paragraph of how the show was produced under "a Franco-Canadian agreement" in which the show was considered French despite being shot in Canada and Canadian despite being shot in France.

It looks to me like the sources are pretty clear about this. Even though some other nations are mentioned as having invested money, the sources label this as a "French-Canadian" series. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 02:57, 28 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
