New Book Elixir confirmed
maybe it would be possible to add a new paragraph that goes something like, in May 2010 it was confirmed Duff had written her first fiction novel about a young photographer named Clea Raymond, the book is aimed at young adult readers and is titled Elixir, reports say it is due to hit book stores in October 2010. im not sure though because i dont write for wikipedia, i just saw it on her website and realised it wasnt on her wiki, perhaps someone could add it? heres the source or link thingy: http://hilaryduff.com/portal/news/news.asp?item=5001070 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.26.230.51 (talk) 10:59, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
PUT THE NEW BOOK IN
why would you not? its her work, shes wrote it, it has a release date, why cant u just put it in whoever edits this page, i dont know why its locked coz now nothing goes IN FFS!!!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.26.230.51 (talk) 21:55, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
- Because we need a [{WP:RS|reliable source]] for it? (Which isn't hard to do - 2 minutes on Google News located a UPI story on this. Tabercil (talk) 22:33, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
- I found a reliable source. Here's the plot summary from the Barnes and Noble website. http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Elixir/Hilary-Duff/e/9781442408531/?itm=6&USRI=elixir —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.96.178.19 (talk) 20:22, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
Addition of Guest Appearance in main article
I feel that a guest appearance in "Law& Order :SUV " need not be mentioned in main article becos i feel its not necessary to mention each and every guest appearance in the main article. A mention of this role is already present in the "Guest Appearance" section table below in the article and separate mention in main article is not needed. We need to be careful as this article was delisted from GA status due to inclusion of very trivial details. I feel that we should remove this sentence from main article but let it remain in "Guest appearnce" Table below in the article. Gprince007 (talk) 15:30, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
- Personally, and another editor agreed on this, I think that episode is perfectly fine for inclusion. It's possibly one of the most notable guest roles she's done and is properly sourced. I just looked at the good article reassessment page where it was delisted, and I can't find a single statement on the reassessment page that alludes to "very trivial details" as the cause for delisting. I do find mention of inadequate lead content and issues over sourcing. Wildhartlivie (talk) 21:30, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
- What i mean to say is that if we include this guest appearance in the main article, other editors might favor the inclusion of her other guest roles...As a guideline, I feel that guest roles should not be included in main article unless they are recurring guest roles....I would rather favor it appearing in the "guest appearance" section which is present below in the article ...Gprince007 (talk) 15:28, 29 May 2010 (UTC)
"Elixir",
Simon & Schuster says Hilary Duff's Elixir book series "combines the overpowering allure of a dangerous love triangle with thrilling international adventure." Here is a description of the book from the Simon & Schuster press release. elixir is about Clea Raymond is a talented young photojournalist who has spent her entire life in the spotlight as the daughter of a Washington politician and a renowned surgeon. Haunted by the strange appearance of a mysterious young man in her photographs, Clea travels the globe with her best friends, Rayna and Ben, in a race against time to unravel a centuries-old mystery that could unlock the key to her soulmate's true identity and the secret of her father's disappearance--and ultimately save all their lives. Hilary Duff says, "I've always loved the escape of a great book, especially one that features a strong, inspiring female character you feel you really understand, someone who could be you, but living a more fascinating life. I'm hoping Elixir will be that kind of book--a novel that will transport readers and open new worlds for them." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.18.40.244 (talk) 16:26, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
Lead paragraph
Just looking, its not very trivial but it says "with her most commercially successful movies being Cheaper by the Dozen (2003), The Lizzie McGuire Movie (2003), and A Cinderella Story (2004)." when it says 'being' it assumes that these are her most commercially successful movies, however Cheaper by the Dozen 2 did better than The Lizzie McGuire Movie and A Cinderella Story, which means if you wish to keep the three original movies then 'being' should be changed to 'including' also just noticed that Agent Cody Banks did better than The Lizzie McGuire Movie, again the lead paragraph should be changed to 'including' or you can change what films are there to her three most commercially successful movies, I.E Cheaper by the Dozen, Cheaper by the Dozen 2 and A Cinderella Story, either way it needs changing because its misleading ....... *PS dont ask me how I noticed im just a freak with grammar* —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.26.230.51 (talk) 22:08, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
Lead paragraph 2
i know you changed it but it still needs changing from The Lizzie McGuire Movie, A Cinderella Story did better than that so it should say ..... Cheaper by the Dozen (2003), A Cinderella Story (2004), and Cheaper by the Dozen 2 (2005) . —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.26.230.51 (talk) 16:00, 29 May 2010 (UTC)
- Except "did better than" some other movie isn't the only reason that something is listed in the lead. Wildhartlivie (talk) 23:23, 29 May 2010 (UT)
eh, but The Lizzie McGuire Movie isnt one of her three most commercially successful movies, so why have you put it in the lead, whats the reason??
- Personally, I didn't put it in the lead, but it is in the lead because Duff became notable by doing the Lizzie McGuire television program and the film is a follow up from what made her notable. Wildhartlivie (talk) 00:48, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
- Yes I agree about leaving Lizze McGuire film in the lead. Lizzie McGuire is what made Duff notable and relevant. I'm sure there are many sources to back that up. Mike Allen 01:22, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
- Well, I have reworded the Lead section now....I guess it should be OK now...Gprince007 (talk) 04:14, 30 May 2010 (UTC)

ok ok i really like how its been reworded and I think its a good idea to have The Lizzie McGuire Movie in there since Lizzie McGuire did launch her career —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.26.230.51 (talk) 23:43, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
2nd paragraph
It says 'With Love' is her biggest US single... biggest in terms of what? charting yes... sales no... therefore it could be changed to.......and released two singles, "With Love", her highest charting US single to date and "Stranger". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.26.230.51 (talk) 19:15, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
beauty and the breifcase
the little bit of info on beauty and the breifcase has been written and not changed since its release, IE 'the film is set to appear on the small screen' should be changed to the film premiered on such and such on ABC family with around such and such viewers. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.26.230.51 (talk) 17:48, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
The Story Of Bonnie and Clyde
i noticed in her filmography section it is under a 2010 release, it is going to shoot in november says a source on its page i think putting it for a 2010 release is riduculous when after filming in november could take one to three months, and then theres editing and final touches, i dont think it would be complete until late 2011 at the earliest, perhaps it could be under TBR or 2011? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.144.96.113 (talk) 15:53, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
Punk'd
in 2003 she got Punk'd, could be added to her tv guest appearances crediting her as 'herself' —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.151.23.98 (talk) 00:14, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
- Many ppl get Punkd but I dont think it needs to be mentioned in the article as her appearance on Punkd may not be seen as a career defining or notable performance...Gprince007 (talk) 15:38, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
new layout
i think the new layout should be changed back, there is no need for it and in most GA's for celebrities, E.G. Lindsay Lohan, they have it set out as a whole thing rather than having music and acting in seperate sections, especially when you get things like the book deal she signed ending up in the music career section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.151.23.98 (talk) 00:21, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
- I have restored previous structure of the article....This article used to have separate TV / Music career sections before till it was pointed out in FA nomination that it should all be merged and written in yearwise chronology. Pls see this ....So i have restored it back....Thnx...Gprince007 (talk) 02:53, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
hasnt sold 18 million
The source given for the new piece of information doesnt suggest anything about her record sales, i think it should be taken off. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.13.211.142 (talk) 14:19, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

personal life magazine quotes
Regarding the virginity quote in the personal section. Is this really something that should be in the article. It's not like her virginity can be sourced and others before her have said it only to mock it later in their careers. Is there any reason this quote would need to be in the article? Your going to tell me she's dated these random men and they haven't done anything?
None of them are exactly choir boys and for such a large article would probably be best left in the tabloids.Woods01 (talk) 20:53, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
Marriage
She married Mike Comrie on Saturday
Opening paragraph
Just a thought for the opening, after it says: Duff subsequently ventured into feature films, with many successful movies to her credit which included, Cheaper by the Dozen (2003), The Lizzie McGuire Movie (2003), and Cheaper by the Dozen 2 (2005). i thought there could be a couple of lines to sum up what she has done recently in film something along the lines of "Duff has recently appeared in independent films such as;" here you could include just two recent indie films she has appeared in such as War, inc. (2008) and According to Greta (2009)...... yeah it was just a thought because i saw a discussion dated earlier saying the open doesnt summarise the article enough. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.144.103.251 (talk) 01:03, 5 September 2010 (UTC)

wrong section
i found this 'In late 2005, the Duff sisters lent their voices to the computer animated comedy Foodfight!, which is to be distributed by Lions Gate Entertainment, but has no scheduled release date. The director of the film, Larry Kasanoff, said that he was "absolutely thrilled to have the Duff sisters as part of the cast".[51]' in the 2007-2009 section, i thought it should be added to the 2004-06 section as it has little relevance to the section it is in. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.151.58.160 (talk) 20:12, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
- Correction has been made and the paragraph has been moved to the relevant section....Gprince007 (talk) 14:51, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
lead 2nd paragraph
i think the information that billboard ranked her at number 69 for the decade end list of best selling artists is very notable, i have seen other artists pages with this information on, i thought it could be included in her lead paragraph on music, here is the source: http://www.billboard.com/#/charts-decade-end/billboard-200-artists?year=2009&begin=61&order=position —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.151.58.160 (talk) 21:56, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
metamorphosis
this - 'Duff's first studio album, Metamorphosis (2003), reached number one on the U.S. and Canadian charts[23] and had sold over 3.7 million copies by May 2005' was taken from the article, there are now many sources citing that by late 2005 it had sold 5 million copies worldwide, no point in having out of date information, if you look on the metamorphosis article itself it will have the source —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.151.58.160 (talk) 21:02, 23 September 2010 (UTC)
Elixir Film
in her filmography its says she will be in the film, there has been no film announced, yes she has said she would like it to be a film, but has anything came of it? no, take it out. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.240.139.26 (talk) 17:17, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

And Please add in her Television guest appearances, the role of 'Meghan' for the tv show 'Community' (Season 2, Episode 7) this episode it's called "Aerodynamics of Gender".

Titles
im glad someone put titles for this article on her career, but i thought it could be TV appearances and Elixir instead of Gossip Girl, because she did 4 tv appearences; ghost whisperer, community, law and order, Gossip Girl, and a TV movie beauty and the breifcase Also it could be Lizzie Mcguire, rise to fame, Metamorphosis and film career. - she had 3 films out in 2003 all of which grossed over 50 mil, and one even got 180 mil. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.13.95.58 (talk) 11:32, 31 October 2010 (UTC)
no endorsements?
i couldnt help but wonder why there isnt any mention of any of the products she has endorsed/done commercials for, it could all go into one paragraph under Entrepreneurship, my version of the paragraph would be something like this:
Duff has participated in many endorsement deals including a VISA prepaid credit card for children aged six to thirteen.[1] She has also filmed commercials for Ice Breakers with her sister Haylie Duff,[2] filmed numerous commercials for Kohl's Candies,[3] appeared in a commercial for the Oxygen Network as well as two commercials for Disney Japan's Disney Mobile.[4][5] She has also participated in a marketing campaign for the Hasbro personal video player VideoNow.[6]
i think it should be added to her article as this is useful information, i don't think it is irrelevant as these are big brands she appeared with, also on other celebrities pages it includes endorsements and commercials they have appeared in. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.13.95.58 (talk) 18:14, 3 November 2010 (UTC)
Filmography
I've been recently re-doing the filmography section of this article on a user page (User:Stephenjamesx/Hilary Duff) and have now transferred it.
- "Acting" : No matter whether in a film/television film/direct-to-video, any project Duff has acted in should come under this title, in my opinion. This makes the section look more cohesive rather than sectioning it off to those three areas. Mention to whether it was released as a film/television film, etc. can be added in the Notes section of the table.
- "As producer" has been introduced. I think it's a key element to her career in film and therefore should be there.
- Accolades have been added to each project, and I believe should remain: allows the reader to gauge an understanding of the success of such films/television series, etc.
Stephenjamesx (talk) 12:00, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
- Not everything needs to or should be in tables (such as "Unreleased", "Producer" for only 2 credits, etc). The "also for <insert movie here>" is also highly redundant and superfluous. I also see some pretty major overlinking, and you should not hardcode tables. Nymf hideliho! 16:12, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
- And as far as the awards go, I think they are fine in their own article, but that's my opinion. There is a reason why it was split off in the first place. Nymf hideliho! 16:14, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
- I rid of the tables for "Unreleased" and "As producer" and links have been cut down. I believe the accolades should be there, because it allows a reader to instantly guage the success of that film, instead of having to move across to another page. See the filmography of Kate Winslet (Kate_Winslet#Filmography): it's a surprise that nobody's created a new page for that (and there's a good case of overlinking in that, plus although you may think the "(also for <insert movie here>)" is more than enough in this table - the filmography of KW does it too.) Stephenjamesx (talk) 14:49, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
- And as far as the awards go, I think they are fine in their own article, but that's my opinion. There is a reason why it was split off in the first place. Nymf hideliho! 16:14, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
WTF?
I think it is out of order that I did not receive any feedback on my input to the page, i wrote the paragraph above about her endorsements and it hasn't been put in, which is fine but i would like to know where i went wrong or why you didn't put it in, i thought wikipedia was a community in which people help each other, i also spend a lot of time, looking for the sources for that paragraph as well. i have contributed many times before to this article, including re doing the opening paragraphs, and editing some of the information on her page. i am one of the only people who ever write on the discussion page and i have received feedback and many times my points have been taken into consideration, so i would just like some feedback on the paragraph i wrote above, about her endorsements. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.146.39.96 (talk) 11:41, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
