editThe term "Nānak Panth" does not exist in any precolonial text in Gurmukhi. It only occurs in Persian chronicles. There is no evidence that Sri Chand started the so-called Nanak Panth. He is generally thought to be the founder of the Udasi order.
Hindus did not exist for millennia before sikhs and Muslims exclusively, there were and are shamans, Buddhists and people who follow no religion. Notwithstanding the term 'hindu' is a catch all, mainly brahminism exists with other peoples following this Creed and adding some Fiat currency to it.

editBJP leader L.K.Advani is not a Punjabi Hindu. He is a Sindhi. He was born and brought up in Karachi, Sindh. I have accordingly removed his name from the list of notable Punjabi Hindus.

Sikhism
editAn anon recently removed Influential Sikh figures such as Guru Nanak, Banda Singh Bahadur, and Bhai Mati Das, originated from Punjabi Hindu families and many Punjabi Hindus converted to Sikhism.
with the claim that it is incorrect. I have reinstated it because, although unsourced in this article, there does seem to be support for it at Sikhism#History. We could do with a short section about it in this article, though, because the claim appears to be made only in the lead section here and that is inappropriate per WP:LEAD. - Sitush (talk) 19:01, 19 June 2018 (UTC)

Focus
editPerhaps unsurprisingly, very little of this article relates to Punjabi Hindus as a community. It is muddling stuff in a classic Hindutva style to make tenuous connections and a sort of pseudo-history. It probably should not exist. - Sitush (talk) 19:54, 7 August 2021 (UTC)

Language of Punjabi Hindus
editShould Punjabi even be listed as a language Punjabi Hindus speak? I've never met one who ever liked speaking the language. Even the ones I saw in places like Amritsar and Jalandhar refused to speak Punjabi.
