How does it actually work- magnetism?

Is it still used at all today, if not, why not?

OK, so how the hell does it work? This article seems almost completely without meaning to me. What does it look like? What, not a single picture? This article needs SERIOUS help... why is it not on the list for deletion, if this is the best that can be done? Especially when other articles, which, I can argue, are far more significant and have far fewer problems, are up for deletion? So... we have a fantastic medical device from WWI... that, apparently, saved a bunch of lives... was significant enough to include here... and the article gives no clue as to HOW it worked, or a picture, or ANYTHING truly significant about it. Huh. Is this a good encyclopedia or not? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.161.51.117 (talk) 03:55, 11 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
