Discussion on content location

edit

This article currently covers a lot of the national historical and political history of the country of Eritrea to provide context and perspective to the developments in Asmara itself. However, it may be beneficial to move some of the content on this article to the 'History of Eritrea' page, which lacks much of the detail provided here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JanNeysan (talkcontribs) 09:56, 31 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

JanNeysan, you may want to make a similar comment at History of Eritrea, so that editors involved in maintaining that article will be more likely to see it. signed, Rosguill talk 17:13, 1 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

The opening sentence, "The ancient city of Asmara, having Eritrean it's capital, is located 100 km inland from the coast," has problems, but I cannot quite figure out how to rewrite it. The "it's" definitely is incorrect, but due to my limited knowledge of the subject I could do more harm than good. ~TPW 13:35, 22 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Several instances of people referred to by last name only. References not fully fleshed out. Obviously Italian sourcing. Is there a project Ethiopia? Elinruby (talk) 05:29, 30 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

There is notable content there however, especially on the colonial architecture Elinruby (talk) 05:31, 30 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

City of Asmara has this History of Asmara Plus a Wiki Page on Asmara and a Timeline Page

edit

This article duplicates two other pages: 1) An existing well-written article on the city of "Asmara, Eritrea" with a history section, and 2) A Wiki Page "Timeline of Asmara." The level of heavy detail in this article in some areas and sparse information in others such as archaeological pre-history, could be curated where there is overlap, and added to where there is lack to be merged with the existing article on Asmara. The Timeline of Asmara could be the index for the History section of the Asmara article. Lilaponi (talk) 05:20, 6 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
