Why is Somali history taken as Egyptian History?

edit

The section on bronze age contacts only mentions trade with the land of Punt. Although there is some contention about where exactly that lay, most scholars agree that the most likely location was Puntland, at that time one of the major sources of myrrh and frankincense (the latter is not found in Ethiopia); especially given the lengthy sea travel described in records of the Egyptian expeditions to 'Pwenet'. I believe this section does not belong here. I have now qualified it by indicating that the location of the Land of Punt is not certain. Robert Kluijver (talk) 08:01, 17 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Abyssinia Affair

Shouldn't this part of history under Menelik be mentioned? (See article on William Ellis.) Kdammers (talk) 23:31, 17 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Name Ethiopia

edit

The theory that Ezana did somehow appropriate the name after the conquer of Nubia makes no sense, he doesn’t refer to them as Ethiopians and secondly does not use the name to reference themselves thereafter. That theory does not wash. 2A02:C7C:36FF:3600:E5C3:603F:84F6:78D0 (talk) 05:02, 28 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
