editWhat is going on here? The page I got discusses Oneota and corn; when I went to edit it, the page I got was different, talking about Mississippian and maize (The page had a note up top about fix-up or something (I can't keep clicking back adn forth without getting thrust out - so I can't check now without starting all over again) Anzyway, why does the "edit" version look different than the view version????Kdammers
Much Richer than this
editWisconsin's history is much richer than this. Where is the mention of its contributions to American politics, in particular the progressive movement of the late 1800's, early 1900's, Robert LaFollete, etc -simonmatt1100
- I too am a little surprised to find that Wisconsin's history apparently ended at statehood. :) - PhilipR - 03:36, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
- Would it be OK to add references to Ripon, Wisconsin#Birthplace of the Republican Party (1854) and the birth of the Republican Party? It is intimately tied to the Abolitionist sentiment in WI as well. Ancheta Wis 00:18, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
- As a touchpoint, the history of Stevens Point, Wisconsin encapsulates many of the trends in the 19th century.Ancheta Wis 00:21, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
- Old Abe is a fun article. This eagle served in the Civil War and was raised in human company as an eaglet. It apparently was a target by the Confederates because the WI regiment loved it so well. After the Civil War it became a photography model for Civil war vets who would line up to get their picture with Old Abe. Ancheta Wis 00:26, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
