editI removed the following: "Moses Alexander was elected mayor of Chillicothe in 1827, being the first Jew in the state to hold office." Alexander was mayor of Chillicothe, Missouri, (not Ohio) in the 1880s. --Faustus37 17:43, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
What is the name of the congregation in Ironton?

This article needs serious work
editClearly, this article began as little more than a crib of the 1902 Jewish Yearbook, to which accretions were added that rendered it almost meaningless as a source for the history of Jews in Ohio. Someone will need to spend considerable time crafting a more comprehensive essay that will not only provide a more helpful historical summary, but will also provide authors with appropriate locations in which to add details relevant to the various communities in the state. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.47.167.219 (talk) 20:55, 19 August 2015 (UTC)

editRabbi Jackson left to give his services to a separate congregation in Arizona. As of late 2023 and 2024 the shul no longer has a rabbi, and has a programme in which different volunteer rabbis lead the services and are switched out every so often. 2603:6010:F200:4449:18E2:FC7E:B902:ED07 (talk) 21:30, 15 January 2024 (UTC)
