HSV Caprice

edit

No such model existed, outside of some aftermarket rebadged jobs. After the Statesman SV series, the Grange became the LWB model name. Caprice has never been used by HSV on any production model.

Nm

edit

I've just noticed that "VectorD" have changed all the Nm to N m ?, I think it should restored to Nm. --MJKubba|talk|contributions 12:52, 5 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

This has been answered on my talkpage. The units were changed as part of a revert of vandalism, to a version which had the 'N m'. Someone else had made the change from Nm to N m. But since we're in this discussion, Wikipedia:WikiProject Automobiles/Conventions says it should be "N·m" rather than Nm or N m so we should probably go with that. Ok Thanks, All Unit Fixed From N m to N.m --MJKubba|talk|contributions 21:19, 6 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

http://www.hsv.com.au/Gen-F/see/hsv-classics/ This will help rectify some mistakes made. VN/VG/VP - It should be noted the Maloo in the VN section is actually a VG ute as VN did not come in a ute. The VT section should note that it was a VU maloo as VT did not have a ute model it was branded VU, yes I do realise HSV is lacking to show some of there models of cars from history, but heres another page to help cite some of my "claims" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HSV_Maloo. http://www.hsv.com.au/Gen-F/home/au/# -look under "see HSV" and add the F series models- Clubsport(317KW), Clubsport r8(325KW), Clubsport r8 Tourer(325kw), Maloo(317kw), Maloo r8(325kw), GTS(430kw), Senator Signature(340kw) and Grange(340KW). We should further note only 2 f20's were sold to the public, the other 2 became HSV company cars, 1 was turbo rb30 6cyl and the other was a standard rb306cyl, the HSV company cars are unknown to me so I cant/wont speculate on them. 1.123.198.71 (talk) 15:31, 27 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Merging individual model pages

edit

I propose that the various individual HSV model pages be merged into both this article and the various Holden Commodore pages such as Holden Commodore (VE). I think that the content of articles like HSV Clubsport can easily be explained in the context of the donor Holden Commodore pages, and each section of the various HSV pages are small enough so that the merging of them will not cause any problems as far as article size or undue weight is concerned.

Models like the Clubsport, Senator, Grange would redirect to and have their own dedicated summary sections at Holden Special Vehicles. Links will then be provided in these section pointing readers to the various Commodore pages in additon to a brief history of that particular nameplate.

Wikipedia has an established history of merging variations of cars together, such as the merger of all Mercedes-Benz AMG pages with their donor models, merging hybrid versions of the Toyota Camry and Ford Escape to those pages, Lexus IS F to Lexus IS, and countless other examples. These HSV models are not much more than Commodores with retuned engines, and revised bumpers, wheels and other trimmings. It is merely glorified badge engineering. I note that the commercially equivalent Ford Falcon does not have these various articles for its FPV range. OSX (talkcontributions) 10:50, 29 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

I have gone ahead with the various mergers as there were no objections. This discussion remained open for the 7 days as required by Wikipedia policy. Notices were posted on all the affected HSV model pages, plus the Holden Special Vehicles page. I also notified WikiProject Automobiles to no avail. You planning on fixing the various links like Holden VL Commodore SS Group A which now points to Holden Commodore instead of Holden Commodore (VL)? --Falcadore (talk) 02:17, 8 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Jackaroo HSV and HSV SE models

edit

Added the Jackaroo SE HSV models, 1994.

HSV made two Jackaroos, the 1993 badged as HSV on the build plate and SE, badged as SE on the build plate. The 1993 Jackaroos are only manual and red. The SE models were not available in red, HSV badging was optional. The interior of the 1994 matched the Holden LS model, with the LS badging on the C pillars. The interior of the 1993 matched the base model, but re-trimmed for HSV. This included red piping on the seats and a unique trim on the seats, and HSV stamped in the head rests. The 1994 had no piping and LS interior with SE stamped in the head rests. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 49.195.43.178 (talk) 23:38, 20 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Updated info on Jackaroo SE (94) and Jackaroo HSV (93) based on 1993 HSV Jackaroo Sales brochure and 1994 Jackaroo sales brochure. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.136.34.58 (talk) 06:09, 23 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
