Fair use rationale for Image:Hcsb-cover.jpg

edit

Image:Hcsb-cover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

I believe this should be removed as it seems to be only a promotion for the website.Ryan Vesey (talk) 04:39, 24 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Sources

edit

Very few sources in this article and the ones that are there are not sufficent, especially when it comes to the section about how the translation came about.Wesb8 (talk) 16:05, 23 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Transliteration or Vocalization

edit

The text says, "The new update to the HCSB is available now in electronic form for WORDsearch and Bible Explorer software.[4] Though largely a minor update, one significant change is that the tetragrammaton is transliterated "Yahweh" in 495 places. In the first edition, the transliteration is only found in 78 places.[5] (The tetragrammaton appears in over 6,800 places in the Hebrew Bible.)" "Yahweh" is not a transliteration; "YHWH" would be the transliteration. "Yahweh" is a vocalization. I suggest that "transliterated" be changed to "The tetragrammaton has been vocalized and rendered Yahweh." (EnochBethany (talk) 14:00, 4 April 2014 (UTC))Reply

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Holman Christian Standard Bible. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. The link to HCSB is now redirecting to CSB - both links go to the same place - CSB. Since this is a Holman Christian Standard Bible Wikipedia page, the redirect to the CSB rollback (Yahweh => Lord) may be inappropriate. On the other hand, since the publisher seems intent on effacing the existence of the HCSB, maybe this page should be modified to reflect that. - 173.20.146.107 (talk) 13:39, 15 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Translation of Adonai and YHWH as Lord/LORD

edit

I made an edit noting that there is a small distinction in the word used for Adonai vs the one for YHWH. The distinction is YHWH is capitalized with small caps (LORD) whereas Adonai is a typical capitalized word (Lord). PowerstarL2 (talk) 02:02, 23 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
