Hapax legomena
edit"Of the 7,618 remaining words 2,307 are hapax legomena." This sentence is ambiguous. Are there 2,307 words that occur only once in Homer, or 2,307 words that occur nowhere else in all of Greek? Both would be called hapaxes, after all. Steinbach (talk) 19:12, 26 July 2018 (UTC)
- It would be VERY NICE if someone dignified this simple question with an answer. Steinbach (talk) 15:51, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
- χαίρετε! The vast majority (if not all) of Homer's hapax legomena are found in other Greek authors.--2603:9000:DD00:9EE:19F0:D477:E394:4A47 (talk) 08:33, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
