Mendeleev is irrelevant to this topic
editThere’s a throw-away comment in the periodic table section about Mendeleev’s use of ‘eka’ for unknown members of a group. That seems irrelevant when describing what ‘homologue’ means in the periodic table. I suggest deletion of the statement ; it belongs in discussion of Mendeleev’s work rather than here.
