Question
editI work at an FBO. A Turbocommander with these engines came in for maintenance. The pilot feathered the right prop and when he shut it off it caught fire for a breif moment. When he got out he said it was normal because he had feathered it. Can someone please explain this to me. I cant see how fire comming from your engine can be "normal". answer: Most 331 engines have a fuel purge feature which is activated on shutdown to push unneeded fuel out of the fuel manifolds. When the operator feathered the engine he bypassed actuation of the purge system. If the operator then places the engine selector to the "engine off" position the purge system will dicharge the residual fuel into the hot engine. If the engine is still rotating fairly fast a lot of smoke will be produced. If the engine is stopped this fuel will often light-off. Although under the right circunstances this can be VERY impressive, it seldom causes more than soot deposits around the exhaust area. With some practice the feather check can be performed and still avoid the "show". Helicoptercrewchief (talk) 02:28, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
Specifications
editI located spex on website of the Canadian Museum of Aviation, and I added them to the article. Someone may wants to delete the request for spex. I upgraded the rating from stub to start based on that added info.--Mack2 (talk) 03:20, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry for the confusion. The specs tag is also used when the specs template (in this case, {{jetspecs}}, needs to be added. I don't have much experince with engine specs templates, so I just added the tag. Having the tag is not a major deal, it just helps to standardized the output of the specs. It shouldn't affect the start rating. - BillCJ (talk) 03:29, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- No problem. Just trying to help.--Mack2 (talk) 03:39, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

Updating the article and external links
editI'm trying to do some additional research to support the content in the article with better sources, but I'm also curious about the external links section. Would it be appropriate to add the official link to the product page in the external links? I know official links are generally allowed under the policy, but I wouldn't want to presume given it could be interpreted as spam. Any thoughts?--FacultiesIntact (talk) 21:31, 13 February 2018 (UTC)

Indeed the item of costing of service is clearly commercial and inappropriate. I will simply delete it — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.27.164.198 (talk) 10:00, 7 September 2019 (UTC)
