Fair use rationale for Image:HKArtsFest.png
editImage:HKArtsFest.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
Proposed change
editWriting on behalf of the Hong Kong Arts Festival, we would like to propose an amendment to the list of Executive Committee members. We understand this falls under as a Conflict of Interest so will endeavour to comply with the suggestions for COI editors. Wikipedia:SCOIC
Specific amendments include:
1) A timestamp for the 'Membership List' section, such as "as at November 2010" to indicate how current the information is
2) Updating the currently outdated and inaccurate Executive Committee members to that below.
Patron The Chief Executive, The Honourable Donald Tsang Yam-kuen
Honorary Life President Sir Run Run Shaw, CBE
Executive Committee Mr Charles YK Lee, GBM GBS JP (Chairman), The Hon Rafael S Y Hui, GBM GBS JP (Vice Chairman), Mr Billy Li (Honorary Treasurer), The Hon Ronald Arculli, GBS JP, Prof David Gwilt, MBE, Mr Daniel Ng, Mr Victor Cha, Mr Iain Bruce, Ms Nikki Ng, The Hon Mr Justice Ribeiro, Mr James Riley, Ms Gilly Wong, Mr Joseph Yam, GBM JP
Please note, this is not the specified format of how the information should be laid out; formatting is lost after this response has been submitted.
A reference link for this information should be added as: http://www.hk.artsfestival.org/en/about/
3) The fifth paragraph mentions the HKAF's Young Friends Scheme, which has its own website that could be added as an external link: http://www.yfs.artsfestival.org/
Cleaned up a bit, needs much more work
editI've tidied the content, from its orginal mess of directly lifted copy. Much more work is still needed. Also, I updated the the list of key people, from the site's own listing, to address the above message from the organisation. (Thanks for your adherence to WP protocol, by the way).Onanoff (talk) 17:35, 26 August 2013 (UTC)
Sponsors
editAs part of the above edit, I deleted the dated and undated (yes, both of those) list of sponsor names. This was also unclear, in that 'Since the 1970s' implies that all those sponsors are still valid, which seems doubtful. But should that be 'In the 1970s'? I wasn't sure, and didn't want to presume, so here is the deleted info, for possible future re-introduction:
- ==Programme sponsors==
- Since the 1970s: British American Tobacco Hong Kong, Cathay Pacific Airways, Exxon Mobil Companies in Hong Kong, Hang Seng Bank Limited, The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, IBM China/Hong Kong Ltd, Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Ltd
- Since the 1980s: The British Council, Philips Morris Asia Ltd.
- Since the 1990s: Dr Stanley Ho, The Kowloon Motor Bus Co (1933) Ltd, Shun Hing Group, TIME, Sir Edward Youde Memorial Found
Origins of HKAF
editThe article said that the HKAF started after "Charles Hardy broached the idea with Sir Kenneth Fung Ping-fan (馮秉芬) and Sir Run Run Shaw (邵逸夫)". Since I can find no mention of either Charles Hardy or Kenneth Fung in relation to HKAF, I've removed it. A source for either would be welcome. Sir Run Run's involvement is clear and retained.
