edit

I am an unpaid volunteer of the subject. This request is to remove statements that are no longer true and to add some sources.

  • Remove ", Hong Kong Computer Society (HKCS) and the University of Hong Kong (HKU)". Note: change previous comma to "and". Add reference just after the deleted text: [1]
  • Add reference after "The first HKOI was held in 1997.": [2]
  • Add reference after "each test was solely to select team members for the competitions.": [3]
  • Add Reflist section

   Unable to implement

  1. "Remove HKCS and HKU" is problematic as an instruction to act because it does not indicate where this text is located.
  2. Generally speaking, references are not placed in the lead section. The lead summarizes information found in the body of the article, and the references should be attached to those claims within the body.
  3. "each test was solely to select team members for the competitions" is not easily confirmed with the provided source. Please elaborate on the location of this statement within the reference provided (i.e., the 4th sentence of the third paragraph, etc.)
  4. The reflist cannot be added because, as of yet, there are no references to populate this section if it were added.

Thank you for your review. The request is updated as follows:

  • In the lead section, remove ", Hong Kong Computer Society (HKCS) and the University of Hong Kong (HKU)" from the sentence "It is co-organized by the Hong Kong Association for Computer Education (HKACE), Hong Kong Education Bureau (EDB), Hong Kong Computer Society (HKCS) and the University of Hong Kong (HKU)."
    • Note: change previous comma to "and".
  • History section, first paragraph. Add reference after "Hong Kong first participated in IOI in 1992.": [1]
  • History section, first paragraph. Add reference after "each test was solely to select team members for the competitions.": [2]
  • History section, 3rd paragraph. Remove paragraph entirely for WP:NPOV.
  • History section, 4th paragraph. Add reference after "In 1997, the Joint Selection Contest was renamed as the Hong Kong Olympiad in Informatics.": [2]
  • Add Reflist section

   Edit request partially implemented

  1.  Y The two lead-section elements were omitted.
  2.  Y A reference was added to the first sentence of the History section.
  3.  N A reference was not added to the claim regarding "each test was solely to select..." because the sentence in the source document which verifies this claim was not found after a perusal of the document, and because this missing sentence was not pointed out by the COI editor when asked to under point #3 of the prior review's reply.
  4.  Y The third paragraph of the History section was omitted.
  5.  Y A reference was added to the 4th paragraph of the History section (which in fact becomes the 3rd paragraph of the History section after completing number #4 above.)
  6.  Y A Reference section was added.
