Dubious
editIn the 14th century? This looks like a heavily recycled factoid - see Google - but it doesn't seem likely. 86.155.204.169 (talk) 13:06, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
I think so too, I was immediately suspicious when I read it, something didn't quite ring true. I have found no corroborative material. While hoops were certainly used in this period, I have found no evidence of a 14th century 'hooping craze.' I think doctors in the latter part of the 14th century would be far more concerned about the Plague... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.220.249.26 (talk) 01:41, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
I don't think this is the same subject as hoop bowling or rolling
editThis is about the use of the hoop or multiple hoops in dance and is similar to the article Hoop (rhythmic gymnastics).--Amadscientist (talk) 01:34, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
Hooping and costuming
editHey all, I would love to expand upon this section as it is currently only two lines long and much too vague. I'm not sure what exactly should be discussed, though, since there isn't a common "costume" hoopers wear. Thoughts? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Michelledianemoore (talk • contribs) 05:55, 1 November 2012 (UTC)
Hooping and Hula hooping
editThese two pages have a lot of information that isn't consistent between them. I'd argue that the Modern Hooping section of the Hula Hooping page is actually more detailed in some ways! I added a lot of that information to this page, too. Do you think we should just merge the two pages? Michelledianemoore (talk) 18:54, 19 November 2012 (UTC)
Merger Hooping and Hoop Busker
editHoop busking is clearly not notable as a performance practice according to Wikipedia policy. It should be merged with this article with its own - brief - section.Robynthehode (talk) 16:47, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
- I'd tend to agree; I see no reason the information at Hoop busker couldn't fit comfortably inside this article. AtticusX (talk) 18:31, 22 December 2015 (UTC)

Article improvement
editThis article, while on an interesting topic, seems to have been written by an enthusiast with no consideration of wikipedia policies. I'm going to start by cleaning up the language and removing the non-encyclopediac content (How-to guides and advice). If you are invested in the article, please add some sources for the text, since almost nothing is supported by reliable sources at the moment. Ashmoo (talk) 15:40, 8 November 2019 (UTC)
