One of the photos is of a Clown Loach, not a Panda Cory!

I didn't notice that when I swapped the pictures, so I reverted the image to the earlier version. Neil916 14:53, 14 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Corydoras Panda Maxillary and Rictal Barbels

edit

While there is information on the reproductive use of the barbels, as well as the expected development of these appendages, there is no information provided on the utilization of barbels for sifting through sandy substrate to locate food. As bottom feeders, it is important for aquarium hobbyists, when attempting to replicate a natural habitat, to know about the substrate that is required to protect these fragile, and important parts of the body. Many aquariests believe that Corydoras Panda fish should only be kept in sand rather than larger gravel that may cause injury.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corydoras_panda briefly mentions this aspect, but I wish there were more expansion on this topic as there is little mention of it at all found on the web aside from within aquarium forums.

Can anyone contribute anymore literature on this topic? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jarrett.brandenburg (talkcontribs) 17:49, 22 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
