editI posted here the it:Zoccolo article; I'm going to translate it as soon as possible.
- Please note that the first two images can't be posted into Commons because they are covered by a formal copyright (with an author's permission to post them olny into wikipedia). Italian wiki allows the use of such images; can someone tall me if en.wiki too allows this?
- Please note too that my English is very poor and my translation would be very rough. Nevertheless there is some discussion about shod and barefoot horses and a deeper insight into the hoof anatomy and function is very important. I'm asking for your help to edit it!
--Alex brollo 13:00, 5 June 2006 (UTC)== Please wikify! ==
Well, it has been a rather hard work. Someone is willing to help me with any edit? I added the wkify template by myself...Thanks!--Alex brollo 05:19, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
About translation help needed
editI hope, is mainly needed a deep help about grammar, syntax and English "style". I added a template that suggests a "dual fluency" just because I didn't find a more appropriate one... Change it if needed! Thanks--Alex brollo 11:59, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
I will help
editHi - I've taken a look and there's clearly a lot of work to do - I'll get to it as soon as I can, possibly this weekend. - Ballista 16:50, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
Editing started, please comment
editHi Alex - I've made a start and would appreciate your feedback, before proceeding. - By the way, why did you pick on me? - Ballista 05:44, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
- I guess, "pick up" a user means finding an interested user and asking a personal help. If so: I'm working on hoof as a main topic related to Laminitis, and I saw some edits by you in the history of that article. ;-) --Alex brollo 06:29, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
Ok - yes, that was what I meant but as I was only one of several, the mystery remains - no matter - I'll do more work on the article as soon as I'm able but not today. Any comment on my edits so far? Good to 'meet' you anyway - Ballista 06:33, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
- I "picked up" Malcolm Morley too... I don't know if such a "picking up" is allowed by witiquette. If not, I apologize. Thanks for you edit! I edited back a single (but important!) word: mustang are not "wild" but "feral". They come from domesticated horses. About the mystery: perhaps I've been impressed by your nickname too... so hyronical from a Italian point of view: ballista=tall story teller ... ;-) --Alex brollo 07:26, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
Diseases
editHow about a section on diseases and disorders of the hoof? Novickas 12:54, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
WikiProject Veterinary Medicine
editI've added this page to this WikiProject - see on Talk:Farrier. I've classed it as B for the moment, but I don't think it would take much work to make it a GA - more references mainly. Any objections to being part of WP:VM, let me know - or just change it, but please leave a note to say why! Dlh-stablelights 11:40, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
Laminitis
editI just had a try at editting the laminitis article and I ended up creating this subsection Laminitis#Laminae out of the text that existed there already - think it could extend the internal structures section of this article. Which also incidentally seems to have corium labeled in the diagram - but then in the text says The corium, a dermo-epidermal, highly vascularized layer between the wall and the coffin bone, has a parallel, laminar shape, and is named the laminae. Are they synonyms ? or can someone please clarify that section of this article.
Cheers EdwardLane (talk) 05:53, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
- I'll have to dig out an anatomy text on this to be sure. As a layperson, I just say "laminae," but I could be wrong. Both articles need more and better sources. Montanabw(talk) 19:24, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
Merges
editI favor merges of stubs if we need to do so, but we will need to write new narrative language for the "disorders" section, which is presently under the see also. ( By "we" I mean "I probably won't have the time and someone else will have to do it! --Grin) Montanabw(talk) 02:28, 25 February 2013 (UTC)
Language
editThe language in this article is in a very strange style. I do not know if it is just overly technical, or that it is not very clearly written. For example, the Anatomy section is almost totally incomprehensible for someone who does not already know the subject. It contains large number of parantheses and slashes and is generally very obscure. Can we make it in plainer English without losing detail? Ashmoo (talk) 12:23, 24 May 2022 (UTC)
