This article needs a lot of expansion. In the UK, a hospital school has an entirely different meaning and there are plenty of hospital schools around which have no links to a hospital (although in some cases they may have had them in the past) e.g. Royal Hospital School, Ipswich; Grey Coat Hospital Foundation; Christ's Hospital. Although hospital has connotations of an infirmary (that is, a medical establishment) I went to a hospital school that was created from two "hospitals" created by bequests in 17th century - need to check dates. They provided accommodation, education, and training for orphans and "poor boys". So in this context hospital is more akin to hospitality.
