editCould somebody please explain two things? First, according to the article on Peerage of France, the peerage of France was abolished in 1848. So why are there three new dukes of Broglie after 1848? Second, why doesn't the Duke of Broglie appear in the List of French peerages? -- MiguelMunoz 07:37, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
The peerage was abolished in 1790, but the title still exists. IIRC French titles are still confirmed by the French government so the Duchy of Broglie is a lot more official than any German title. Broglie should be on the French Peerage page because it's in their source: http://www.heraldica.org/topics/france/peerage2.htm#modern Nickbii (talk) 07:58, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
