Hamlet

edit

I read once that members the Gonzaga family were the inspiration for the play-within-a-play in Shakespeare's Hamlet, but I can't find the reference now.. does anyone else know?

In Act 3, scene 2, they act out a play called The Murder of Gonzago (or The Mousetrap); "This play is the image of a murder done in Vienna: Gonzago is the duke's name". / Havard 15:20, 31 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

I wonder, is it Gonzaga with a clear z or is it closer to ts (e.g. the word canzona)? I'm thinking the Z version is probably right, but if someone has a definite answer to that, it would be good to add to the article (especially using IPA). --Chrysalifourfour (talk) 23:52, 11 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
