Notability and source reliability
editI feel that this song has demonstrated notability since its prior deletion. Besides the fact that Obama has called it his favorite song of the year, it has been discussed non-trivially in books and scholarly articles outside of the context of a review of To Pimp a Butterfly, and has been covered by a notable musician (Terrace Martin worked on both the cover and the original though, so maybe that doesn't count as an independent cover). It has made the top-ten of two Kendrick Lamar song rankings as well. I also found a GQ article that discussed the song in its own standalone article, and two instances of Kendrick Lamar discussing the song's inspiration.
As for the reliability of two specific sources: The Inverse article is most likely reliable because Matthew Strauss has written for Pitchfork before and the article was published before it was bought out by Bustle Digital Group. The Spectrum Culture album review is most likely reliable because its writer has also written for PopMatters.
The song has also been covered by Butcher Brown. Is this notable enough to include in the article? (I found this article) Squidb4ll (talk) 04:49, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
