Etchings on vinyl

edit

Does anybody have the slightest idea what this section is supposed to be about? If so, could they edit it to clarify? I think of myself as a moderate Smiths fan, and if I can't make sense of it, then anybody coming to this article without knowing The Smiths is going to be even more bewildered. --Ef80 (talk) 00:35, 24 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

It refers to texts etched near the lead-out grooves. I added a reference to a Discogs entry that indicates which text appears on which side. As to the meanings of the texts--I leave that to others to clarify. Tom239 (talk) 18:07, 6 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Last sentence in the introduction section.

edit

I don't understand this sentence: "It was used for the last few scenes when Brian was looking at a photograph of himself as a child sitting with his father (with whom he now has a very strained relationship)." Who is Brian? Who is his father? Who cares? 56.0.84.23 (talk) 14:31, 18 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Girl in Music Video

edit

There are rumors the girl in the video is Jaime Pressly, but it's impossible because she would be around 9 or 10 years old around the time of the music video. If at some point in the future someone tries to add her to this article, please remove it. Still, there is curiosity on the internet of whom is the real girl in the music video. • SbmeirowTalk07:11, 13 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

my bloody valentine

edit

there is an alternate version of the mbv 'glider' EP with an andy wetherall remix of 'soon'; I reckon this remix contains a sample of 'how soon is now?'. not sure how to back this up though.

Star Trek III

edit

I've heard this song is inspired by a line from Star Trek III. Any truth to that or is it just a internet legend?Rja13ww33 (talk) 19:17, 2 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Almost certainly no truth to it at all. There's no evidence that Morrisey had any interest in science fiction in general or Star Trek in particular. The track was recorded in June 1984, and Star Trek III was released in the UK at the end of July. Verlaine76 (talk) 16:31, 11 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
